This artist has become famous because of his amazing artwork using paper cutouts. He started a couple of years ago when he was in London and wondered how he could photograph the landmarks in an original way.
His first idea was a Big Ben turned into a wristwatch then he went on transforming photos of London Eye, St. Pauls, and Trafalgar Square. After that, his work went viral on Instagram and led to some collaborations with big brands such as Disney, Vodafone, and NFL. He decided to leave his job to become a full-time Instagrammer.
Since then, he traveled the world creating incredible pictures with his cut-outs which now turned into a book called “Around The World in Cut-Outs.”
My Book is out on Tuesday in North America! Bursting with images from around the world (including loads I really want to post on here but I've promised myself to keep them exclusive to the book). There's plenty of surprising facts and stories accompanying each image and a whole section at the back with some of photos that didn't work at all. You can pre-order it via the link in my bio or look out for it in bookshops from Tuesday across North America #aroundtheworldincutouts
Sought a bit of inspiration from Fashion Week back home for this one. When I arrived at the @icehotelsweden I didn't have the best weather but each day the skies cleared a little more until, on the last night, the clouds disappeared and the Northern Lights came out to dance (Check out my insta story to get a closer look at the cutout- it's a delicate one)! @discovertheworlduk #withinthecircle #discovertheworld #swedishlapland #visitsweden #icehotel
"Hey Daenerys- can your Dragons do this?" I went back to @rotoruanz after the Topdeck trip because I'd heard about so many other things I wanted to check out here, including having a traditional hangi meal with Maoris here at @te_puia. I also had the opportunity to shoot photos of the geothermal areas alone at sunset which was amazing (you might have been able to tell from my insta stories on the day that I was in my element) @purenewzealand #rotoruanz #tepuia #newzealand #gameofthrones
The scariest, most adrenaline fuelled activity I did in New Zealand wasn't bungy jumping, sky diving or exploring active volcanoes- it was taking two cameras & lens' out on the water in a wobbly kayak. I've never sweated with nerves so much! Luckily I stayed upright & managed to keep the camera gear dry to get this shot of Split Apple Rock in Abel Tasman National Park. This is definitely somewhere I want to go back and explore more- it's an area full of hidden beaches, caves, wildlife and bizarre rock formations like this one #WHPillusion
I loved Wellington! We didn't get too long in the Capital but I managed to cram in the incredible @te_papa museum before riding the @wellingtoncablecar up the hill to find the Gardens Magic Festival. I ended the night in a few bars with the Topdeck gang. A buzzy day 🤙🏻 @topdecktravel #Topdecker #Ultimate49 #Wellington #NewZealand @Wellington_NewZealand
If you've been following my insta stories you'll know I'm exploring the real Middle Earth – New Zealand- with @topdecktravel to tick off a few of their #ultimate49 experiences. We started up in Auckland and I couldn't help but get a LOTR reference in right away with this one #ultimate49 #topdecker #NewZealand
A @starwars & @burjkhalifa mashup I made for the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Until last year I was 'that' guy who had never seen Star Wars so I'm not that familiar with the backstory, but that didn't stop me from getting swept away by the film & loving it. Star Wars: The Last Jedi is still in cinemas for those of you that haven't seen it yet (or those that want to see it again) @Disney #StarWars #TheLastJedi #Rey #BurjKhalifa #LightSaber #Sponsored
Just before Christmas I headed over to Dubai to team up with @StarWars to create some Dubai themed images for the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. This one involved carefully trodden footprints, creating a track apparently caused by BB-8 and then getting the shot before the waves washed it all away. It's pretty fun taking these photos. I'm heading to warmer climates for Christmas this year, but I couldn't leave London without catching some christmassy fireflies courtesy of the #ShardLights doing their festive thing. It's easily my favourite modern building in London (you can probably tell based on the number of photos I've done with it) & now it sparkles every hour, counting down to 2018. If you're after a good vantage point- I took this from the North side of the Thames standing next to Southwark Bridge (in front of the lifebuoy if you want to get specific) #TheShard #London #Spon @theshardlondon
I've been wandering through the vineyards & cobbled streets of France's famous wine-growing region, spending my days getting lost down sunny side streets & my nights curled up in quaint Chateaus. The charming teams from @visitfrenchwine and @_oliverstravels_ have given me a glimpse of what it's like to spend some town in this area and it's been a treat- life moves much slower here, the locals smile at you and the wine really does taste better when you drink it on a vineyard. @visitfrance @thepcagency #Spon #VisitFrenchWine #FeelFrance #FeelBordeaux #whydoordinary
One of my personal favourites- Tower Bridge transformed into a Rollercoaster. It’s in my book ‘Around The World in Cut-Outs’ which is available to buy now from Amazon, Waterstones, Tesco & a bunch of other retailers. Happy Sunday! #books #reading #currentlyreading #nonfiction #bookstagream #booksofinstagram #bookaddict #bibliophile #art #paperart @instagram #instagram #paperboyo #cutouts #thisislondon #london #towerbridge #rollercoaster #sunrise #silhouette
So the Paperboyo book is on sale tomorrow! Why buy it? Well it’s full of exclusive photos (including scenes from Scotland, Brazil, South Korea, Portugal & Others). It’s got my favourite stories & facts from all of the places I’ve been as well as some insights into my creative process. There’s also a bunch of behind the scenes images and we’ve dedicated a few pages at the back to the failed photos- the ones that didn’t go to plan! There’s even an interactive element in the book for you to go & take some of your own photos in my style. The main reason though is that it’s a book that will inspire you to you see the world a little differently, to look around a little longer, to ponder, to wonder & most of all to get out there and go explore 🌍 Pre-Order right now by clicking the link in my bio.
In 2005 the mayor of Mississauga, a City West of Toronto, announced an international design competition for a tower to be known as Absolute World. Two years later, after a public vote, the winner was selected- Yasong Ma, of MAD Architectural Design Studio in Beijing. Pretty quickly the spiralling, curvaceous tower was nicknamed Marilyn Monroe. When apartments in Marilyn Monroe went on sale, they all sold within 24 hours. So naturally the developers quickly announced that a second Marilyn Monroe was going to be built, also spiralling and asymmetric but apparently this was going to be Marilyn after a binge because the second tower was designed to be rounder and plumper so as to accommodate more apartments #ExploreCanada #MyCanadianAffair @ExploreCanada @airtransat #Toronto
Competition Time: I'm giving away TWO signed copies of my upcoming book "Around The World in Cut-Outs" (published by @penguinukbooks ); one for you and one for a friend. To be in with a chance of winning double tap my cutout of Marilyn and tag a travel loving friend you'd give the book to in the comments. T&Cs: UK entrants only. Competition closes at 6pm 23rd September. The winner will be selected by @penguinukbooks. The books will be sent out (to the person who comments) shortly after publication on 5th October 2017.
I've got a few more Toronto images to share with you all. This one, with the CN tower, might just be my new favourite photo. The evening I took this I was on the only boat on the water as the sky danced through a spectrum of colours, each colour change transforming the water around me as well as the skyline ahead. The boat's skipper & I snapped away on our cameras, only stopping to whisper 'wow' as another colour came to the palette. I was in my element, but it was only with a bit of luck and a dash of Canadian friendliness that I'd managed to get here. I was in Toronto in June, when the islands were closed due to floods so the ferries weren't running & the water taxis were finishing in the middle of the afternoons. I'd walked down to the harbour to see if I could get out on the water for sunsets but was greeted with headshakes. Eventually I managed to turn one of those headshakes into a nod and so I have to give a shoutout to @infinitywatertaxitoronto, you're a legend. Thanks for showing me one of the very best sunsets I've seen in all of my adventures #ExploreCanada #MyCanadianAffair @ExploreCanada @airtransat #Toronto #CNTower
Probably the most enticing name for a beach ever, Sugar Beach is an urban beach just across from the Redpath Sugar Refinery. In keeping with the theme the sand is almost white and there are pink candy coloured umbrellas dotted around. The most satisfying part is the caramel aroma that drifts over from the factory and flavours the air #ExploreCanada #MyCanadianAffair @ExploreCanada @airtransat #Toronto
This setting is on the shore of Niagara-on-the-Lake, a small town where the Niagara River meets Lake Ontario. While I was holding up the bride & groom cutout, a local lady told me that that couples can actually get married in the bandstand, which provided a nice bit of serendipitous context for this caption. So if you're looking for a venue…. #ExploreCanada #MyCanadianAffair @ExploreCanada @airtransat
When I look in your eyes, and you’re looking back in mine, everything feels not quite normal, because I feel stronger, and weaker at the same time. I feel excited, and at the same time, terrified. The truth is I don’t know what to feel, except I know what kind of man I want to be. _______________________________________________________ Sheldon, that was beautiful. _______________________________________________________ I should hope so, that's from the first Spider-Man movie. _______________________________________________________✌🏻Thanks to the awesome team from @grandhyattnyc for the rooftop tour, I love that you guys embrace having such a cool space and share it with your guests. More hotels should make use of their rooftops #nyc #newyork #livinggrandnyc #spiderman #bigbangtheory #sheldoncooper
I had to put King Kong on the Empire State whilst I was in the city 🦍 I'm happy to say @uncommongoods are exclusively selling a selected range of my photographs (including this one). Head over to their Instagram throughout the day to see which prints are available or head to their website & search paperboyo #nyc #newyork #kingkong #empirestatebuilding
