]]>“I’m still shaking looking at this,” Chia wrote in a reel posted on Instagram, which features a photo taken in October 2012. At the front is Chia, sitting at a theater cafe, and in the back is her husband, Jon, waiting in a queue to get his ticket.
“We were at the same place but didn’t know each other existed,” Chia added before showing a brief timeline of her and Jon’s relationship.
As it turns out, the two officially met two years after the photo was taken and got married nine years later.
“We met at the right time,” Chia wrote in the caption of the video. “If it was before, I don’t think the relationship would have lasted.”
Since being shared in late 2023, Chia’s post has been capturing the attention of social media users. It received more than 460K likes, with Instagram users being blown away by the story. Some called it a perfect example of “invisible string theory,” while others simply called it “amazing” and said it was “meant to be”.

]]>Alexander and Andrea Campagna intended to stay in their house for Christmas and wait for the snowstorm to lose its momentum. But two days before Christmas, at around 2 p.m., they heard a knocking on their door. Alexander opened the door and was met with two South Korean tourists who were in need of help. Their tour van got stuck in the snow, and they wanted to borrow shovels to get it out.
Knowing that they wouldn’t get far even if they managed to get the bus on the road again, Alexander and Andrea decided to welcome the tourists to their house and provide them and their driver shelter until the weather improved. What followed was several days of getting to know each other, watching football, and eating a lot of South Korean food that the guests made.
“We have enjoyed this so much,” Alexander said when reached out to by The New York Times. “We will never forget this.”
According to Alexander, this was a “unique blessing” for him and Andrea and has inspired them to visit South Korea.
“We are happy and luckily and gracefully having a great Christmas with Andrea and Alex,” added Yoseb Choi, one of the tourists that stayed with Campagnas.
By Sunday, the snowstorm had calmed down, and the tourists decided to return to New York City. Most of them will leave for South Korea without seeing Niagara Falls, but at least they got an experience they will never forget.

]]>The purse belonged to a high school student Beverly Williams and represented a perfect time capsule that showed how a teen girl’s life looked back then. The purse contained several items, including a wallet, which proved to be the most valuable discovery. In it were a number of photographs as well as diary entries and notes.
“There was a mini calendar, and the dates and entries stopped in April 1959, so we assume it was lost in April 1959,” said CCISD’s Erika Fernandez.
The diary entries were particularly telling as Williams described her everyday events, her love life, and more.
“It was like we were living through somebody’s social media page of today,” added Sarah Osborne, League City’s director of communications.
Shortly after making the discovery, the CCISD managed to discover more about the teenager that owned the purse. It turned out that Williams married in 1963 and had nine children. She passed away in 2016 at the age of 70. CCISD passed the contents of the purse to one of her daughters.

]]>The 27-year-old Florida-based woman has been living with her husband since 2015, and for the last six years, she’s been cleaning after him. But not anymore. She picked up the camera and started a “document series” titled Wife Strike.
“I knew there had to be people out there with these husband and cohabiter woes. I realized that I was not alone and that I was conditioned to silently clean up after my husband that he literally forgets he ever left a mess behind,” she said in an interview for Bored Panda.
Unfolded laundry, the laundry basket full of dirty clothes, shoes and socks left everywhere, dirty toilet seat, and more uncleaned stuff can be seen in the videos. But after some time, Jaile’s husband made small improvements.
“I think the overall message is setting in. However, I’m thinking a week-long is not enough, and I will follow through until the areas of concern are addressed. So hopefully, he gets the full scope of what I do,” she added.

]]>Love started this heartwarming habit while she was a medical student. She would visit local weddings after they wrapped up and ask whether she could take the flowers that would otherwise be sent to the trash. Contacting wedding coordinators also helped, as most of them were happy to let her use the flowers.
After repurposing the flowers into beautiful bouquets, Love would then take them to the hospital to hand them out to patients who were lonely or didn’t have frequent visits. Her actions would often represent the highlight of the week for many and help them deal with the hospital stay.
“It’s so gratifying to see the patients who receive our bouquets,” she said in a recent interview. “It reminds me why we do what we do.”
In 2019, Love also started The Simple Sunflower organization, aiming to include more people in her project and spread the word. Other people quickly joined in as volunteers, and there are now 200 of them helping the cause. Also, the wedding coordinators and planners, as well as newlyweds, started reaching out to donate the flowers.
Love is now looking to expand the project to other cities and open chapters in medical schools in order to reach more patients.

]]>“Ever since I was a little kid I wanted my own little library. Today I finally finished it,” wrote Mikaela while posting a few photos of the library.
The beautiful-looking library and Mikaela’s enthusiasm quickly made this post viral. It was re-tweeted over 23,000 times while getting almost 250,000 likes, prompting a follow-up.
It didn’t take long for other Twitter users and bookworms from all over the world to start responding to the original post and sharing their own library setups.
User Rita Collins turned her library into a “traveling bookstore” by placing it inside of a van. According to her, this enables her to travel, read, and connect to other book lovers at the same time.
“Rhoderedpvd”, on the other hand, lacked library space and had to improvise. That’s how her dining room turned into a place for all her books and occasional apology dinners.

]]>Sadly, florist Murielle Marcenac was forced to make the hard decision and to put a “closed temporarily” sign on her flower salon. But instead of being sad and devastated, she decided to bring smiles to people’s faces in a different way.
Recently, she made a trip to Perpignan hospital located in France, and surprised its essential workers by placing a beautiful bouquet on their cars.
“I had to make a decision, and I didn’t want to waste the flowers. Instead of crying, I told myself that we had to make people smile, especially at times like these,” Marcenac told Huffpost.
She also added that she plans on surprising other hospitals as well: “They thank me for my support and my approach because at the moment it’s complicated. They need it, we have to support each other at times like these and not get angry.”
What a lovely surprise, right? Have you done something special during these difficult times?
