Toon Joosen is an art director and visual designer from the Netherlands. For the last twenty years, he’s been running a successful art studio under the name “TOON concept, art direction, and design”. His main services are logo design and design of flyers, posters, book covers, and magazines.
When he’s not at work, he creates his artwork by simply observing the world around him. His most popular art is his bizarre surreal collages that regularly appear on his Instagram page, where around 9k people follow his work.
The images are usually vintage in quality, and there is a sense of depth and slight melancholy when you observe them. The materials he uses are usually magazines, regular paper, street junk, and his own photographs and drawings. Joosen has a unique sense of humor, and he describes himself as “raw and fearless” when it comes to working.
In his collages, you can see a combination of modern and old through the mix of images from old magazines with modern-day elements. For example, a vintage housewife vacuuming people on the beach with a USB port. How lovably bizarre is that!
Here is a small collection of his work we prepared for you, and we hope you’ll enjoy it!
