Kuala Lumpur-based photographer Grey Chow likes to watch the sky at night and get amazed by the beautiful scenery. But, he also enjoys sharing the beauty of the sky with others. Chow started taking photos of the night sky and became so good at it that it seems like they came from a fairytale movie rather than being real.

Grey Chow goes to great length to capture the perfect image, like hiking the mountains in Indonesia and Malaysia or visiting the remote areas of the countries he traveled through like New Zealand and India.

“One day, I saw that someone posted a photo of the milky way in a Facebook group and that really blew my mind.” – Chow said of his beginnings. “Before that, I thought I needed to have a giant telescope or some expensive gadgets in order to capture these deep-sky objects. But then I realized I was able to do it with my own camera. Ever since I’m totally fascinated in taking pictures of the night sky and I have traveled to different places or even hiked up to the mountain around 4,000 meters altitude just to get the perfect picture!”

Let’s check some of his stunning works below.

"Milky Way @ Low's Peak" What is the craziest experience that you ever have for photography? Share with me in the comment. 😉 For me, one of them (Yeah, there are several) is hiking up to Mount Kinabalu for taking pictures of Milky Way. The best part of it is that the whole trip was unplanned and only decided 2 weeks ago before the hike. I not even had enough time to train myself for it and me not really a very fit person. Thanks to that, I able to get the photo I want. P.s. there were countless times that I started cursing myself for making such decision during the hiking, lolll #mountkinabalu #kinabalu #sabah #milkyway #nightsky #nightphotography #timelessuniverse #night_shooterz #malaysiatrulyasia #malaysia #nikonasia #nikonmalaysia #travelphotography #travelawesome #ig_asia #tlpicks #livetravelchannel #greychow #earth_magazine #jawdroppingshots #wanderlust #travel #travelphotography #travel3sixty #beautifuldestinations #weliketotravel #wonderful_places #natgeotravel #natgeoasia #longexpoelite @best_malaysia_photos

"A Lonely Night" The famous Wanaka standing alone in the night. Compare with Queenstown and Christchurch in the South Island New Zealand, I'm more prefer the Wanaka Town. A much smaller town surrounded by some of the famous and beautiful scenery such as the Wanaka Tree, and Roys Peak. Still, it is a very convenient place with all the shops and restaurant available on the main street. I felt very relaxed and fresh while I was there. #wanakatree #wanaka #southisland #newzealand #nightphotography #milkyway #timelessuniverse #night_shooterz #nikonasia #nikonmalaysia @tourism_NZ #travelphotography #travelawesome #timelessuniverse #tlpicks #livetravelchannel #earth_magazine #jawdroppingshots #wanderlust #travelphotography #travel3sixty #beautifuldestinations #weliketotravel #wonderful_places #natgeotravel #natgeoasia #longexpoelite #night_excl #milkywaychasers #travelislife #neverstopexploring

"Magical Night" No doubt, Nugget Point is definitely one of my favourite spots here in New Zealand. By having my shot had planned carefully, I set up my camera there, waited for the moment that the Milky Way moved to just right at the back of lighthouse and pressed my shutter "click!". Here is the photo of this beautiful place. 😍 #southisland #newzealand #nightphotography #milkyway #timelessuniverse #night_shooterz #nikonasia #nikonmalaysia @tourism_NZ #milkywaychasers #travelphotography #travelawesome #ig_asia #timelessuniverse #tlpicks #livetravelchannel #neverstopexploring #travelislife #jawdroppingshots #wanderlust #travel #travelphotography #travel3sixty #beautifuldestinations #weliketotravel #wonderful_places #natgeotravel #natgeoasia #longexpoelite #nuggetpoint #night_excl #travelthroughthelenses

"Broken Night" Capturing Milky Way is always about planning and luck. When the time I visiting my hometown Terengganu, the weather forecast was bad, showing mostly cloudy for whole night, but still we decide to give it a try since we already here (Especially 2 of my friends was driving 4 hours direct to here). Reaching the place at around 12 a.m. and was totally cloudy! But luckily after an hour waiting there, there's a moment that the clouds moving away giving us a clear view of the Milky Way. Glad that we take the chances. 🙂 #night #nightsky #galaxy #milkyway #goasean #malaysia #terengganu #travel #traveller #cuticutimalaysia #visitmalaysia #terengganuphotographer #photography #brokenboat #travelmalaysia #asian #asean #beach #shipwreck
