South African illustrator Amy Slatem creates hilarious illustrations, however, one of her most popular projects is the series of images where she imagines quirky vegetable personalities by pairing them with letters from the alphabet.

From A to Z, the artist imagined Perla, the pedigree pepper, Deon, the dorky daikon, Gary, the goth garlic, Harry, the hungry hubbard squash etc. After graduating from Rhodes University in 2013, she began working at design agencies for a couple of years, later she started her freelance journey, and in 2016 her work has been showcased as one of Design Indaba’s Emerging Creatives, and has since been published in Capsules’ Drawn Vol. 2 international creative directory.

Slatem is currently living and working from her home studio in Sydney, Australia, and alongside her hilarious illustrations of veggies she creates other artworks, as well, like for example adorable pet portraits or stylish portraits of female celebrities.
