]]> We have seen artists turning real life photos of people into illustrations before, but the way Belgium-based artist Aurélien Rocteur does it is really special.

While she is able to turn any photo in a remarkable illustration, Rocteur prefers to draw his inspiration from dancers and models. She manages to perfectly capture his model’s gestures, poses and fine details that represent the essence of the illustration.

Another cool thing is that Rocteur doesn’t just use professional photo, but also works with the material submitted to her by his Instagram followers.

We are in mid-May, so I drew a new mermaid. I found my inspiration with a photo of @ashleighwilsondances Photo reference by @ecphoto3 INFO : Thank you all for your many messages and forgive me if I have not answered everyone yet. I try to answer regularly on my mailbox and on my facebook account. On Instagram, there are far too many DM messages to respond favorably to everyone unfortunately. I draw after my work days and I do not always have time. For those who sent me drawing requests, I will reopen orders for the month of June. I have set dates with some of the people who are already in the expectations. For new requests, you must be patient.
