]]> If you enjoy following creative cookie bakers on Instagram, you’ll never run out of amazing pages. One of the very best ones is run by Joanne of Burberriejam, who shares some of the most colorful and adorable sweet treats you’ll see all day.

The self-taught baker from Toronto is actually a graphic designer by trade, so it’s not surprising to see her making such picture-perfect cookies. She usually bakes cookies inspired by animals and animated characters we all know and love, including Pusheen and Baby Yoda.

Joanne describes herself as someone who loves “all things sweet,” and she’s been surrounded by passionate foodies her whole life. She’s been baking cute, colorful treats for years and sharing them with her friends and family, before deciding the entire world should see them.

Her Instagram page burberriejam was born, and it’s attracted over 45,000 followers in the meantime. One thing we adore about her is that she’s not just sharing photos of adorable cookies—some of them also come with a recipe, so everyone could try making them on their own.

Weekend treats: Totoro (+ soot sprites!) black sesame shortbreads ?? Recipe below: Ingredients * 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened * 1 cup confectioners sugar * 1 teaspoon kosher salt * 1 teaspoon vanilla * 4-5 tbsp ground black sesame * 2 cups all-purpose flour Instructions 1. Using mixer, beat the butter until creamy. Add the confectioners sugar and salt and beat until smooth and combined. Beat in vanilla extract. On low speed, mix in the ground black sesame and flour until combined well. Place the dough in between 2 pieces of parchment paper and roll dough flat–the dough should be about ¼ inch thick in an even layer. Place the dough into the refrigerator to chill for at least 30 minutes. 2. Preheat the oven to 300°F and line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. 3. Once the dough is chilled, remove the top parchment paper and start cutting out shapes with cookie cutter. Gather any scraps, roll out dough again, and repeat. Place the cookies an inch apart on the prepared baking sheets and bake for about 18-20 minutes, just until the cookies are firm to the touch but don’t take on any color. Remove from the oven and cool for about 5 minutes on the sheets before cooling on a wire rack. 4. Decorate with icing or enjoy as is!
