Versatile Dutch artist Gemmy Woud-Binnendijk has degrees in Goldsmith and multi-media design, but she found her true call in photography. However, this “mother of 5 kids, a 100% coffee addict, autodidact, a sensitive and caring artist” (as she describes herself), isn’t your everyday photographer.

Inspired by the golden age of painting, she uses Chiaroscuro principle and the Sfumato technique which combined with dark and light contrasts that allow her to achieve depth in her photography. The final outcomes are amazing photographs which will make you think that portraits done by classic painters like Johannes Vermeer came to life. Check some of her best works below.
