]]> The figurines created by Debra Broz may look cute at a first glance, but you’ll quickly notice something about them is off. The artist explained her thought process before she creates each of them: “As I look for pieces that match in scale I’m brainstorming: What makes this funny? What makes this strange? How subtle or extreme does an alteration have to be to make someone notice?”

Broz is very skilled in fitting the pieces together as she also works as a ceramics restorer. “I play on the idea of the ‘mad scientist’, cutting things apart and forming them into something else, like Dr. Moreau or Dr. Frankenstein,” she said. Scroll down toΒ see her work!
