]]>This year’s theme, “The medium is the message,” was based from a quote of media scientist Marshall McLuhan. Installations such as British artist’s Gali May Lucas’ sculpture called “Absorbed by Light,” aims to address our obsession with digital technology. Jeroen Henneman’s piece, “Two Lamps,” was installed near on the riverfront, making a dazzling scene when reflected in the water below. On the side of the building, you can see Frank Foole’s artwork, “Waiting,” that features a silhouette of a person surrounded by a loading wheel. There’s also a hanging art piece by OGE Group called “Light a Wish,” that was installed in the middle of the city’s canal.
The winter light festival runs from 29 November 2018 until 20 January 2019.
