The idea began when Hedrick wanted to create stunning backdrops for photos of her two kids, Sagan, 8, and Emil, 4. It turned out to be a campus-wide sensation that attracted hundreds of admirers as well as on social media.
Since 2013, she’s been doing the artwork as an annual gift to students taking their final exams. Her designs are inspired by well-known British environmental artist Andy Goldsworthy.
