Canada-based woodworker John Heinz of I Build It decided to make a wooden replica of the Great Pyramid of Giza and try to understand the structural engineering behind this huge monument.

Heinz used small pieces of wood and pretended they were made of stone in order to understand how these famous pyramids were built. As he admitted, nobody really knows this and he’s definitely not the first one to try and solve the mystery.

“What follows is the building method that I think was used to construct these massive stone structures,” he says. “Of course, no one can say for certain exactly how it was done since there aren’t any verified writings from that time that describe the actual construction process.”
