The love artwork is a creation of artists Frédéric Baron and Claire Kito. Baron was inspired by the “silent passions” that people use to express their love into the world, such as the couples carving their initials into the bark of a tree.

To make sure the inclusivity of language, Baron asked the foreign embassies and his multilingual neighbors to write the phrase “I love you” in a notebook. He had filled three large journals with it written a thousand times. He teamed up with Claire Kito, who practices Chinese calligraphy, to put them all together in a 416-square-foot mural.

Baron hopes that this project will serve as a place to meet regardless of their nationality or where they’re from. The I Love You Wall is open to the public for free.
