678 – Today, I marvel at the vastness of the glory outside, and the greatness of the glory inside the human. – We have no idea, truly, of the vastness of the universe. -
Light takes eight minutes to get to us from the sun. In other words, the sunshine we can see now departed the sun eight minutes ago. We measure the distance between stars in how many years light needs to travel. We, humans, drive 90 to 100 km/hr; light travels 300,000 km/second. – The very closest star to our solar system, Alpha Centauri, is 4.3 years to travel at the speed of light. I let that sink in to my own heart. – The visible universe contains 10,000 billion galaxies. Each one of these galaxies contains about 100 billion stars. Imagine each star being a grain of sand. There are more stars in the portion of the known universe than there are grains of sand on Earth. – The late Arthur C. Clarke said: “Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying”. – Instead of terrifying, I think that to be the sole sentient being in this beyond-vast universe is awe-inspiring, reminding us of the cosmic significance of each life.

689 Rain at the Bus Stop – I didn’t know I was doing a Ghibli thing until today. I mean, here’s another one from #StudioGhibli the iconic rain scene from My Neighbor Totoro. – I know I know, this Totoro looks different. But I tried my best. -
Just want to clarify that Totoro is not a Japanese traditional character but rather a creation of Hayao Miyazaki. So I tried my best to match whatever animal for Totoro is. (Yes, Totoro is all fur!) – It was also very hard to match the colors to this because there are two posters (JP version and US version), one is cool and the other is warm. I was so torn. Haha -
Lastly, this took me waaaay more hours than usual, so I’m off to bed first.
Let me know if you want to see the BTS of this too and I’ll capture it tomorrow.

690 – How can we stop at 3? Another #StudioGhibli inspired and this one is from their war movie, Grave of the Fireflies. – Sigh. I probably cried a bucket of tears while watching that one before. – The movie perfectly showed us that when times are tough what you need most is humility, patience and self-restraint. That's how one survives.

702 Territorial – When I was young I’d follow my uncles everywhere (9 years age gap) and we’d catch dragonflies, spiders, and even birds. – But I don’t know how I did it because I am really scared of bugs right now. Enemy number one is a cockroach. – #WHPplay

718 Sunny Days – I hurt my thumb (haha such an accident prone ) that typing this hurts. – But another addition to the #maintenance series. They are at least months apart each and finding how my composition gradually changes thru time is fascinating.

719 Mermaid Tales VIII – This is by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done (though I complain internally every day ). It’s so hard, I equate it to Totoro level. I almost cried on my first Totoro photo because I ruined it so bad. (That Totoro looked like a gangsta!) – Don’t know if you’ve noticed, I am trying to practice my “fake” underwater scenes. Thats why the last 2 mermaids are underwater. #mermaidtales

734 – Still in love with my cloud fish so here they are again!! – So yesterday was #MandelaDay and I was looking into a bit of his writings and I happen to stumble upon his inauguration speech on Youtube (highly recommend you go check it out) and his remark on the never ending journey of freedom and human rights resonates with me the most. – “I have walked that long road to freedom. I have tried not to falter; I have made missteps along the way. But I have discovered the secret that after climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb. I have taken a moment here to rest, to steal a view of the glorious vista that surrounds me, to look back on the distance I have come. But I can rest only for a moment, for with freedom comes responsibilities, and I dare not linger, for my long walk is not yet ended.” – May you keep going also – #theskyisasuspendedblueocean

750 The Journey of Finding yourself IX -Dead End – If you look very closely at the previous maps you will see that she doesn’t need to cross any body of water to get to where she wants to go. There was no plan of stepping into the water but I really want to do something water-related right now (I’ll probably regret this later) so I decided to take her on a detour. I’m basically the God in her universe so she can’t do anything. Mwahaha – Isn’t it fascinating how our ideas evolve overtime due to our mood? – So here we are now, on the journey. We know she’s directionally challenged.
Now that we passed the "Skull Valley" she’s really lost.
