]]> Luna Prysiazhniuk moved to the United States in 2016 in order to study architecture at Chicago’s Illinois Institute of Technology. She quickly became charmed by the architecture, landscapes, and landmarks, of Chicago, which inspired her to start a series of oil paintings dedicated to the city.

Prysiazhniuk paints Plein-air style, which in return makes her paintings rich in color and enhanced by light-play. In her works, she manages to capture the beauty of both some of iconic Chicago buildings, but also the less known and remote parts of the city that are charming in their own way.

I remember the first time I saw the Cloud Gate in the ending scene of Source Code. At that time, I didn't know how far is Chicago was from my home. That was my childhood dream, to see the Bean in real life. But the doors were closed in front of me too often. So now it’s not scary not to get to the dream. Where is worst not to try to do it. Where is more frightening don’t believe in the ideas.
