You don’t understand. We’ve been having this bird argument for a decade now. My mum has been fighting to get birds in the house for YEARS. There’s 11 of us, and half of the fam have always protested. I tried to talk sense to her but she’s gone full rogue.

. The birds preen themselves throughout the day but the serious preening happens in the evening before they go to bed. I see it every single day but it never gets old. There’s something about watching this daily ritual that’s really soothing. And of course it’s so sweet when they help each other out in the places they can’t reach themselves

. I’ve been having fun with the rose theme this week in my pictures but for me, flowers, chocolates and gifts aren’t what this day is about. I find the little things done on a daily basis are so much more meaningful than getting a gift on a designated day. That said, I will never turn down chocolate
