It’s only 2018, and it’s already difficult to imagine the world without the internet. Not that long ago, being connected to the world at any given moment was not such a close concept. We’re not about to get into the pros and cons of the digital era, but it’s obvious that many modern technologies wouldn’t exist without widely used internet, 20 or 30 years ago.

Thomas Olliver, an artist with wide imagination, tried his best to present how certain technologies we know and love today would look like back in the ’80s. How would we use Facebook and Instagram if we didn’t have smartphones? Is there any way we could watch Netflix on demand?

San Francisco-based photographer Jack Daly challenges old stereotypes about masculinity with his project “The Real Man Catalogue.”

Inspired by early ’80s ads, Daly is tackling premises of masculinity one photo at a time. Why is he using the ads from the 80s? It is something he’d “been gorging over…they seemed like the perfect way to highlight how outdated these masculine stereotypes are”, he explained, “how ridiculous [he thinks] they are”.
