You might remember Aaron Zenz, a picture book creator and a father of six creative kids from West Michigan. The illustrator, fine artist, college instructor, graphic recorder, and designer of multimedia published a picture book called Monsters Go Night-Night in which he included drawings his son Elijah made when he between the ages of 4 to 5.

After the book was released, Zenz invited other artists to re-imagine Elijah’s original monster drawings into fan art.

“Hundreds of illustrations came in. I created a Twitter account, Instagram account, and hashtag #‎MonstersGo and have continued posting weekly monster prompts, now provided by all six of my kids,” the artist shared with Bored Panda.

“There are currently around 1,250 pieces of MonstersGo artwork that have been created by artists from all over the world!”

Aaron Zenz from West Michigan is a true fan of storytelling.

This author, illustrator, fine artist, college instructor, graphic recorder, designer of multimedia, characters and toys, husband and father of six, has been inviting kids all around the state of Michigan to send him drawings of monsters. For the past two years, 17k drawings have been sent to his mailbox. He looked through all the illustrations, picked out the ones that inspired him the most and re-done it in colored pencil.

Nowadays he has done 300 drawings based on kids amazing designs. Except for his astounding talent, Aaron has a huge love for children’s books as well. Due to his passion, he has collected over 3500 titles.
