Did you know that this year, the famous Pokémon franchise celebrated its 25th birthday? It all began in 1995 when Japanese video game designer Satoshi Tajiri created the now-world-known fictional creatures, which you “Gotta Catch ‘Em All”. Since then, the popularity of the franchise has only increased.

And one Alabama-based firefighter likes dressing up as his favorite Pokémon creatures. A couple of years ago, the 29-year-old Cameron entered the world of cosplay, and since then, he has been transforming himself into anime characters. In an interview for Bored Panda, he explained how he got into all this stuff.

“Some friends at my old job invited me to a relatively small anime convention about an hour from where we live,” he said and added that after getting a new job his finances were so much better that he decided to commission his favorite character, Bellosoom.

Since then, Cameron has expanded the range and transformed himself into other Pokémon. He currently doesn’t have a huge fan base, but you can follow his journey anyway.

As a little girl, Micah Yates always wonder what is behind the neon yellow border line that enclosed every Pokémon illustration.

“As an older, developing artist, I decided to take to the brush and ‘erase’ that border that I loathed so much,” she said. “After practicing my card-painting skills for quite some time, people began coming to me, asking me to ‘retouch’ their own cards from decades ago that had once meant so much to them. Scratched Pikachus, bent Magikarps, old and faded Charizards – so many sent to me just so they could have one last chance in the spotlight.”

Also known as Lunumbra or Lunny on social media, the artist has been collecting and trading Pokémon cards for almost 23 years. Today, she refurbished old and worn cards that have been donated to her and transformed them into amazing works of art. Scroll down to see her latest creations.
