]]> It’s official! The biggest plane in the world had its first flight this Saturday. Known as Stratolaunch, this enormous bird made a victory leap over the Mojave Desert in California. This is a moment we’ve been waiting for for a while, but it was all worth it. With a bigger wingspan than an American football field, this plane is planned to be used as a launching pad for satellites.

The Stratolaunch company was set up by Paul Allen, the co-founder of Microsoft back in 2011. Although Paul did not live to see this big achievement, the flight is of huge significance for the whole world. The current CEO shared his excitement during a press release.

“I’m really excited today to share that we have successfully flown the Stratolaunch aircraft for its first test flight this morning. It was an emotional moment for me to personally watch this majestic bird take flight and to see Paul Allen’s dream come to life in front of my very eyes,” said the CEO of Stratolaunch, Jean Floyd.

САМЫЙ БОЛЬШОЙ САМОЛЁТ В МИРЕ STRATOLAUNCH СОВЕРШИЛ ПОЛЁТ В США провели первые летные испытания самого большого в мире самолёта Stratolaunch, предназначенного для воздушного старта ракет-носителей. У самолёта шесть двигателей. Масса составляет 250 тон, с полной нагрузкой – около 590 тон. Движение по взлетно-посадочной полосе обеспечивает 28-колесное шасси. Размах крыльев Stratolaunch – 117 метров. Во время первого полёта, самолёт провёл два с половиной часа в небе, над пустыней Мохаве. Он достиг максимальной скорости, приблизительно 280 км/час и успешно приземлился. #estetikabudushchego #stratolaunch #airplane #space #эстетикабудущего #самолет #космос
