The post Baking 101: Sally McKenney Will Teach You the Secret to Baking appeared first on TettyBetty.
]]>With some 600k fans on Instagram alone, McKenney has introduced plenty of people to the art – and science – of baking. The three time’s best-selling cookbook author and creator of Sally’s Baking Addiction blog, McKenney offers from-scratch recipes, kitchen tips, lessons on baking basics, step-by-step photos, and video tutorials – so you know you’re covered.
Having launched her website in 2011, what started out as a personal blog and an easy way to share baking recipes with friends and family would outgrow its humble beginnings. The self-taught baker would soon learn that her recipes had an audience, and after only a year and a half of running her blog, she quit her full-time job to make room for her growing business.
According to McKenney, her favorite flavor to bake with is actually pumpkin. “I eat it all year round,” she told Bakepedia, “but we are coming into the season where people look for it … pies, breads, all kinds of desserts with pumpkin! And apple pie is my very favorite dessert, so you can look forward to variations of that.”
Indeed, her most popular recipe this time of year is, unsurprisingly, The Great Pumpkin Pie Recipe. Scroll down to see more of her mouthwatering deserts.

]]>“Life’s too short to eat boring food,” reads Jose’s Instagram caption/mantra. And Jose seems to take this mantra at face value. At only 17 (!) he has amassed over 1.6 million followers on Instagram.
Based in Lima, Peru, Jose went completely vegan by the age of 14 and taught himself to cook from scratch. “I ate animal products for 90 percent of my life, and meat was my favorite thing in the world,” he recalled in an interview with Daily Mail Online. “But I was struggling with eating disorders and an unhealthy low-weight.”
“I searched for lots of diets online and then the vegan diet popped up,” he went on to explain. “I saw how lots of vegans ate a lot and followed a high-carb diet but still had a perfect fit body, so I started eating less animal products and decided to inform myself about veganism. That is when everything changed and I learned that veganism is a lot more than a diet, it is a lifestyle. Soon after, I made the decision to become vegan. I was no longer looking to lose more weight, but to stop supporting all forms of animal cruelty.”
His Instagram page showcases some of the most mouthwatering desserts we’ve seen, proving that being vegan doesn’t mean you don’t appreciate a good looking dish.

As a base for her work, she uses breakfast smoothies made from cream, milk, fruits, and berries, while the paintings themselves are created with coconut cream, almond milk, spices, herbs, and vegetable powders.
“I love getting into creative projects in my spare time,” added Zakariya. “It’s a great mindfulness practice and a way of expressing myself, challenging my skills, and creating something that is unique.”
Experimenting with different textures, patterns, and contrast, her illustrations are bright, bold, and all-around enjoyable. Follow her Instagram page for an appetizing addition to your feed.

But not a set where you cook, but where things that inhabit it, have a life of their own, almost as if they took a place of their own, a place of entertainment, of course.”
He goes on to say, ”Obviously, to create these images, there‘s a great amount of post-production. Every photograph has a different process behind it that, first of all, depends on the subject. What I can say is that every object that you see floating was captured in the exact spot it was.”

]]>The only problem is – you can’t tell who’s who. They all look the same, and that’s why people started noticing an Indian guy who photographs his food in the same yellow plate over and over again.
“My Yellow Plate was not intentional. I never planned that I would pick up a yellow plate and go out looking for food,” the author of the page, Himanshu Sehgal, says. “One fine day in 2015, my mom served me Rajma Chawal on this yellow plate. No one knows where it came from, it was just there in the kitchen. I remember taking a picture of it and sharing it on my personal Instagram profile.”
“It wasn’t a great shot but it still clicked with the viewers, getting several likes and comments from friends and family,” he remembers. “This was probably because most Indian households use either steel thalis or pastel-colored crockery and a bright yellow plate was conspicuous. Intrigued, I decided to carry the yellow plate along with me while traveling. Every time I would eat on it, I would share it with people and let them know what’s on my yellow plate.”
