]]>The new campaign for the 2019 MINI Countryman consists of two short stop-motion films created by animator Kirsten Lepore and artist duo Nix + Gerber.
The first one is called Camping, and you can see it below. The film follows the brand’s slogan “Created in a Countryman,” showing that the whole world can fit in a vehicle.
The second one, titled Underwater, shares the same idea. Here it is.

]]>The film beautifully represents what millions of nice people all over the world want to do on a daily basis.
“I wanted to have quite soft and sympathetic characters, to contrast with the less soft actions,” Mantzaris says. “I also liked them to feel a bit awkward and uncomfortable, just as we can feel sometimes in social situations. I also wanted it to feel a bit grey and boring, to enhance the feeling of an everyday life that we sometimes want to break out from.”

]]>The author explained the process under the video posted on Vimeo, writing:
“To create 349, a dance performance was videotaped and converted into a series of still frames. Over the span of two years, 349 different people each redrew one of these frames after being asked to “draw yourself and someone with whom you have a significant connection.” The resulting drawings were scanned, sequenced, and synced to music to create the short animated dance film.”
