Moo Deng attracted a lot of attention online after the zookeepers started sharing her videos. The Khao Kheow Open Zoo saw a significant increase in sales in the face of her viral success, but they had to implement strict rules and a five-minute time limit due to high interest in Moo Deng.
They started selling toys and other merch inspired by this adorable hippo, while fan art started showing up online, along with a crypto coin named after Moo Deng. Her popularity also attracted a lot of attention to its endangered species Choeropsis liberiensis, along with the Khao Kheow Open Zoo’s conservation efforts.

Those years are long behind him, but his wildlife illustrations remain a love letter to his roots. The animals in his art take up their space in between the handwritten notes, sometimes even merging together with Velez’s writing to create something extraordinary.
Velez sees himself as a mixed-media artist because he’s prone to experimenting with different mediums while working on his wildlife art. He usually turns to colored pencils, pens, and watercolors when trying to make his illustrations truly pop.
Another impressive thing about his illustrations is his incredible attention to detail and the ability to perfectly capture the singular characteristics of each animal. Despite being no stranger to the realistic approach, he wants his work to have a personal touch and capture the distinct beauty of every single creature.

]]>Peggy became quite a superstar thanks to Deadpool & Wolverine, but her beginnings were pretty humble. She’s a crossbreed between a Pug and a Chinese Crested Dog, who was the runt of an accidental litter and the last of her siblings to find a loving home.
Holly Middleton fell in love with this unusual dog right away and adopted her when she was six months old. Peggy became a true sensation after winning Britain’s ugliest dog competition in 2023, and this eventually helped the team behind Deadpool & Wolverine discover her.
Ryan Reynolds campaigned for Peggy to be cast from the get-go because she felt like “the animal manifestation of Wade Wilson.” Despite the fact she had no formal training, Peggy was eventually cast as Dogpool, and animal trainer Jules Tottman helped her prepare for the film.
In addition to stealing every scene she was in, Peggy was a part of the film’s promo tour, and she walked the red carpet in London alongside the leading duo Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.

]]>Kuzminski is based in Coquitlam, Canada, and the immense natural beauty of her home country has always been her main source of inspiration. She used to be a passionate runner, but a knee injury forced her to slow down and take up walking and hiking instead.
“Slowing down, I started to notice the informational signage on the trails. I actually took the time to read about the plants and animals in the area. I was drawn to the different types of birds shown in the pictures and started painting them,” she wrote on her Etsy page.
Heike spent over a decade working as an interior designer but decided to take up watercolor painting while her youngest kid was in kindergarten. As her fascination with birds grew, she decided to explore their beauty through art, and took part in a 100-day challenge on Instagram, painting 100 birds from all around the world.
Her love for birds didn’t fade away once the challenge was over, and she’s still painting them on a regular basis, using her unique style to single out features that stand out to her.

They usually feature humorous remarks and spotlight the commonly accepted personalities of animals. Dogs are affectionate and curious, cats have a tendency to be sarcastic and self-centered, while fish are just focused on survival in the sea of predators.
These conversations can also be similar to those of humans but feature a unique twist depending on the species featured.
For example, in one of his comics, Craig imagines the talk between two pigeons resting on the top of a tall building. They admire the view and debate about how much the building costs, just like two humans would probably do. But since money isn’t a thing in the world of pigeons, they use breadcrumbs as currency.
Craig started sharing They Can Talk comics with the world in 2015, and they have since become quite popular on social media, including having 650K followers on Instagram. They also inspired two books and a calendar.

]]>Despite not appearing in Twisters for a single second, Brisket became somewhat of the film’s unofficial mascot, and that’s not a coincidence. He adopted him while filming this project, after feeling a sudden urge to take care of someone.
“I was going through a breakup at the time and was in the middle of Enid, Oklahoma, and I had always wanted a dog. It was something I thought about a lot, but it was somewhere in this coffee shop in Enid…. I don’t even know how to describe it, I just had the desire to be a father,” he told Entertainment Weekly.
Powell took the weekend off filming to fly from Oklahoma to Los Angeles and adopt Brisket from the Labelle Foundation. He quickly became everyone’s favorite crew member on the set of Twisters and brought everyone closer together. Once the film finally came out, Powell decided to honor his pet by bringing him along for a promo tour, and Brisket joined him during several red carpet events, photoshoots, and interviews in recent weeks.

She had to make many changes to give him the life he deserved, from moving into a bigger apartment so he could fly freely to working from home so they could spend their days together.
He went on to become one of the most popular birds on Instagram, with 500,000 followers and counting, but sharing a home with him hasn’t always been easy.
“I am incredibly honored to have such a special relationship with a bird, but owning a pet toucan isn’t glamorous and it certainly isn’t for everyone. I created this website for a variety of reasons, but one of the biggest being to put helpful information up about how difficult toucans are as pets,” Stagliano writes on her official website.

As you might guess, the process of creating this kind of deck was all but easy as Phillips wanted to make sure that the dogs represented in the illustrations have characteristics similar to the famous person they were posing as.
“First starting with my personal favorite authors and many that stand as icons of writing, I worked out puns for their names that included something dog-centric. Then the challenge was to choose a dog breed and expression that might reflect some of the facial and hair characteristics of the writer,” Phillips shared in a recent chat with Bored Panda.

Dubois used to work as a commercial photographer before the pandemic hit in 2020, and her career trajectory changed completely during this time.
“It was a really unsettling time (for everyone) and I quickly had to look for other ways outside of work to mentally cope with life’s uncertainty. Alone in my apartment with just my cat, Pony, and the blank walls around me, I started coloring my small world with paint,” she told Voyage LA.

As soon as he sees a toothbrush, the pup immediately shows his teeth in their full glory, resulting in a hilarious face.
The video quickly went viral, receiving more than 52 million views.
“When you’re at the party and you gotta ask your friend “hey bro do I look sober,” one TikTok user joked in the comments section.
“I wish my kids were that ready to get their teeth brushed,” another added.
Seeing how King Leo’s teeth brushing routine captivated the internet, his owner later decided to upload another video that shows the dog is always having the same attitude.
