Meet The Designer Who Made Travel Her Living

Tara Whiteman is a creative originally from Disney, Australia, who’s living her dream. She travels around the world and documents her life and adventures, creating beautiful artistic photos of her destinations.

At only 24, Tara has somehow managed to strike the perfect balance between professional life and leisure. In the years she’s been running her IG account, she’s completed a degree in design and launched her own business. She manages to combine traveling with her career perfectly, working on different projects with clients all around the globe.

Tara’s main interest is, naturally, lifestyle. She documents not only the placed she visits but also fashion, food, and art. She’s not about big touristy landmarks or historical monuments – you wouldn’t find a photo of her posing in front of the Eiffel Tower or the Pyramid of Giza.

Her photos reflect a much more laid-back approach to travel: it’s about eating great food, wearing chic clothing, sunbathing by the pool, and generally having fun, without over-thinking it too much.

The result is a stunning travel log of the most gorgeous hidden gems around the world, that will inspire anyone to pack a bag, pick up a camera, and book a flight to somewhere far, far away.

One of the first things I get asked when I tell people I’m from Australia is “are the bugs really that big?”. My initial response is to laugh and then explain how I live in a city, where I’ve only seen a few big bugs in my life & that I didn’t grow up playing with snakes and riding kangaroos to school. 😁 However, that all changed once I came to this spot. It really is so funny to look back at. I had been wanting to stay at these cabins for years. A few months ago we finally booked a night here. The afternoon and sunset was absolutely amazing, I was so glad we had made it here! There is no wifi, so we felt completely disconnected from the world. It was bliss. Unfortunately, I had celebrated too soon. We did not spend the night here. Once the sun had set, every single creepy crawly came out of the corners of the room. That lamp to the right of the photo attracted pretty much every moth in the Blue Mountains. Cockroaches that could fly chased me around the room. 🤣 I also saw the largest spider I think I’ve ever seen in my life. This photo, although a dreamy scene is now one of the funniest memories I have. Only after we left did I then read the reviews to find many others shared the same stories. It just goes to show, not everything is always as it seems, but at least I have this story to tell you now. 🤪 The bugs will really get ya down under. ✌🏼🐛🐜🕷
