]]>In March, she began making pies that look like beautiful art pieces. Inspired by her everyday life and things that surround her, the mom of two and a part-time graphic designer explained that she started making pies “as a way of relieving the boredom, fulfilling my creativity, and also getting dinner on the table.”
“My pies are mostly inspired by my family, my moods, and internet culture. They are a mix of social commentary and sweet delights,” Scarfe said and added that each pie took her more than 72 hours to make and just five minutes to eat.

“My mission is to show the world that not only can pies go head-to-head against the poshest wedding cakes and fancy-pants desserts on the most discerning buffet tables of the world, but that they can be fun and easy to pull off too,” Jessica said.

PS, this was my first time making toffee flowers and I love them! It was so easy, and they add a delightful little bonus flavour to the bites lucky enough to be adorned with one. Just make sure you use a lot of flour on your cutters and surfaces to keep them from sticking.

Sometimes a pie-dea just pops in your head and you have to drop everything and bake it. That’s pretty much the story behind this Jessica Rabbit pie! I’ve been all about edible bling this week (ever since I discovered painted on maple syrup as the perfect pie sprinkle glue) and when a friend reminded me in a comment of how much I love Who Framed Roger Rabbit (shoutout @bruceboschek!) this design was instantly projected into my brain. Despite the final terrifying scene with Doom pretty much scarring me for life, I loved that movie so much, and I thought Jessica was so glamorous (I was a kid and she had the same name as me, gimme a break

Rapunzel, Moana, and Pocahontas got a fair number of votes too but they never quite made the cut… No one voted for Elsa at all!
