Jessica Leigh Clark-Bojin is an Instagram pastry chef who attracted tens of thousands of followers with her pop culture-inspired pies that are too cool not to check out.

She started her journey Pies are Awesome in 2016, and since then, she’s created pies inspired by countless pop culture references that her fans love.

“My mission is to show the world that not only can pies go head-to-head against the poshest wedding cakes and fancy-pants desserts on the most discerning buffet tables of the world, but that they can be fun and easy to pull off too,” Jessica said.

Adventure Time! C’mon grab your friends… Jake and Finn were the top recommendation for my “cartoon duos” pie series by a wide margin so I figured I’d better do them next! With the wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry this weekend, a new bond is forged between the UK and the USA… 🇬🇧🥧🇺🇸 but the Yanks and Brits have another bond that goes back much further: their mutual love of apple pie! 🍎To celebrate the impending royal nuptials, I have created a traditional apple toffee pie, with a not-so-traditional top crust design. “I’m not bad… I’m just baked that way.” ♥️ Sometimes a pie-dea just pops in your head and you have to drop everything and bake it. That’s pretty much the story behind this Jessica Rabbit pie! I’ve been all about edible bling this week (ever since I discovered painted on maple syrup as the perfect pie sprinkle glue) and when a friend reminded me in a comment of how much I love Who Framed Roger Rabbit (shoutout @bruceboschek!) this design was instantly projected into my brain. Despite the final terrifying scene with Doom pretty much scarring me for life, I loved that movie so much, and I thought Jessica was so glamorous (I was a kid and she had the same name as me, gimme a break 😜) How about you? It was a toss up between blueberry or apple spice for this Princess Merida fan art Pie… she eats apples a lot in the film, but she also serves her mum a magical blueberry tart. In the end, 🍏 won out because that’s what I felt like eating for breakfast! 😜 Thank you for voting for your favorite Disney princesses this month! It’s a Spooktacular Collab-o-Rama! Presenting one of my most requested pies by ya’ll: Maleficent! I did the Jolie-version – if you love her, great! Say hello to Chocolate Cherry Pie-kachu (Christmas version)! ⚡️🎅🍒🍫🥧 ⠀ This pie was a request from follower @craftingkindness – thank you so much for your “Santa Pikachu” suggestion! Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss! In honor of the day, I’ve baked a colourful rendition of one of my favorite stories – The Lorax. 🌿🌼🧡 This is an apple pie, but I’ve segregated sections of tinted filing under the surface so the truffula trees pop with their own vibrant colour. It’s a super fun technique – let me know if you’d like me to post the video! ⠀⠀ I sometimes find that color in fillings can give off a teensy bitter taste, but this time around @gosupernatural was kind enough to send me some samples of their all-natural food dyes to try out, and I must say I am a big fan! Very bright and no discernible taste in the filling. I added some sanding sugar on top for a bit of extra sparkle and sweetness and I’m pleased with how the two elements work together. I’m keen to experiment more with them in the future. 😊💜❤️💛 ⠀⠀ Do you have a favorite Dr Seuss book? 📚 At his best, he taught us to have faith in ourselves while respecting others and the environment- whacky concepts at the time! Happy 60th Birthday Barbie! You don’t look a day over… 25? 19? 36? How old is she supposed to be? Anyway, ya look great doll! 🎉🌺💃 ⠀ While doing research for this “Peaches and Cream” 🍑 Barbie pie I fell down the rabbit hole of Barbie nostalgia… both over dolls I owned (I *loved* my “Dream Date” Barbie – she had a ruffle you could rearrange on her dress in four ways! 😍) and over dolls I did not own, but coveted hardcore. Like “Crystal Barbie” – my friend Alicia had her – and “Sweet Roses PJ”. The kid who lived across the street had Sweet Roses PJ but she wasn’t allowed to take her off the shelf. Happy Easter and Passover and Sunday everybody!! 💐💕 I’m so excited to share this, my first ever collab with my friend and constant inspiration @luxeandthelady (who’s real name is also Jessica!) We’ve been looking for a collab to do together for a while and with the Springy holidays coming up (and the #pieartanimalscollab happening now until May 12th) she suggested we tackle Disney’s Bambi.
