Speaking about her decision to make flowers the main subject of her works, Pulcho says that her goal is to bring some beauty and inspiration to the world.
“I like florals for their esthetics,” she shared in a recent interview. “There is enough ugliness in the world and I believe that my paintings can bring something beautiful and inspiring to other peoples life. I also love to paint watercolor portraits, but I do this really rarely.”
Pulcho, who is currently based in Florence, Italy, regularly shares her newest works on social media. Check out more of them below.

]]>“Every year, I do a series of illustrations in autumn. Therefore, inspired by the current season this year, I decided to collect leaves, photograph them, and then add watercolor illustrations to express my love for it,” the former animation filmmaker shared on Bored Panda and explained how his artwork is done.
“My medium is essentially watercolors, but for this series, I used photography as the base. After clicking the images, I studied the character of the compositions and then started doing the figures that fit the context of the photos.”
You can enjoy Shaw’s work by checking him on Instagram, where he has attracted almost 8,000 thousand admirers. Besides his leaf-inspired pictures, he depicts other images, as well.

Scrolling through his Instagram profile, you will enjoy watching portraits of people from all around the world.
“The pictures which most often inspire me are from movies, which usually give me ideas for a drawing and motivate the painting process,” he explained. However, if you look closely, there is one thing that plays a huge role in his artwork. Water. More precisely the human figure submerged in water. “Simply because it is a beautiful situation”.

Her resulting sketches and paintings are then used to raise awareness and funds for the organizations’ fieldwork. According to Nicholls, she donates a portion of her sales to these organizations.
Quite naturally, Nicholls finds the process of painting in an African conservation, an exhilarating one. While her studio paintings consist of multiple layers, her sketches require confidence and speed. “It can be a real challenge to depict complex issues like the human-wildlife conflict in a painting,” Nicholls explains on her website, “but it has given my art layers of meaning, as well as layers of color.”
“I usually work in pencil or pen first, then add watercolor,” she explains her process. “I don’t have an easel or a chair because I usually stand when sketching people, or need to be in a vehicle when sketching wildlife.”
She might just inspire you to get sketching!

]]>According to Patterson, such details are meant to reflect the “psychological resonance” of her subjects, delving deeper into the human condition. “I believe that most of my ideas come through me, not from me,” she explained on her website. “Sometimes, ideas simply pop into my head seemingly from nowhere. Other times, some political or social situations will appear in my conversations, in the news, in a movie or in many other ways — repeatedly, beckoning me to paint them.”
Through her work, she aims to give voice to difficult social and political subjects in an attempt to encourage thought, emotion, and dialogue. “Once I realized the tremendous power that images can have to make people comfortable or uncomfortable, happy or sad, settled or unsettled, I knew I had a voice,” she writes.
“I decided to use my voice to encourage people to see, think and feel – something not always valued in our culture. Awareness replaces ignorance and opens up the possibility of change. If you can’t ignore it, then you may feel compelled to change it.” Her imagery is compelling, if nothing else.

With each piece, Watts pushes her boundaries, exploring further the different ways in which watercolor behaves.
“Watercolor is different than any other art medium,” she explains. “It’s about letting go. It’s about trusting in yourself to go where the water takes you.” According to Watts, immersing yourself in the loose colors on the page feels like finding the holy grail.
Much like her artwork, Watts’ inspiration is rich and varied. “It could be a beautiful light and dark pattern that catches my eye, a strong color contrast that excites me, or a grey foggy landscape that reflects my mood,” she explains. “It could be an expression on a stranger’s face or inspiration from a dream.”
Whatever her recipe is, it seems to be working.

It’s this distinctive style that has brought her an abundance of commercial clients and individuals. Meanwhile, her more personal work can be found on her Instagram page as well as showcased at galleries and art events across London.
Based in London, Hussain’s artistic passion sparked early on, and she recalls spending hours sketching on the counter in her dad’s corner shop. But according to her biography, it was only since the birth of her first child that she decided to take her hobby more seriously. And so, she picked up the pencil once again, reclaiming her own identity amid the emotional blurrings of motherhood.
Her sources of inspiration vary and include anything from the patterns of home interiors to the natural shapes of the outdoors and the geometries of architecture. Working in several different media, and most usually at night, she is driven by experimentation, constantly exploring new techniques and searching for the shapes and subjects they express best.
