Byron Denton is a 19-year-old YouTuber from London, who recently conducted a rather interesting social experiment on social media. In late January, Denton posted edited photos of himself on Instagram that showed him leading a rich and extravagant lifestyle. His followers could see him sitting on a private jet, wearing designer clothing and shopping at Louis Vuitton.
Of course, Denton faked all of these photos using apps like FaceTune, PicsArt, and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. This young YouTuber is not the first one who came up with this idea, he was inspired by other vloggers who faked their realities.
“I saw a lot of people faking holidays and stuff, but I thought it would be cool to take a different approach”, Denton told Insider. “I’d always wondered if the reason people are so obsessed with celebrities was due to the fact they can afford to live a life not everyone can.”
It seems that Denton’s claims were actually true, because most of his followers thought the photos are real and the engagement on Denton’s page skyrocketed in just a few days.
