Many food artists enjoy making cakes inspired by our favorite cartoons, but no one is doing it like Keely Gonzalez. Keely’s Cake Studio founder is always looking for fun and silly ways to pay homage to our favorite cartoons through her creative birthday cakes.

Keely is a cake-maker from Fontana, California, who attracted over 40,000 Instagram pages through her baking experiments. She made a smart decision to focus on several types of cake designs that are extremely popular right now, including shag cakes and vintage cakes with a retro vibe.

Her style is pretty versatile and she can make a dream cake for pretty much everyone, but the ones that helped her go viral were mostly cartoon-inspired. They see her paying homage to our favorite animated shows through fun references that only the die-hard fans would understand.

The most notable example is the SpongeBob SquarePants cake she made last year, featuring a popular quote, “What’s funnier than 24? 25!” The viral video that shows her making this shag cake received over 13 million views on Instagram, becoming one of Keely’s most popular to date.

Its success inspired her to make more cakes themed around our favorite cartoons, including Scooby-Doo, The Powerpuff Girls, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

If you’re hearing the phrase “very demure, very mindful” everywhere these days, you’re not alone. We can thank the TikTok user Jools Lebron for this viral trend, but what does this catchphrase actually mean, and how did it grow into such a huge viral sensation?

Lebron is a TikTok creator with 1.8 million TikTok followers under her belt, and her follower count started rising after her “demure” videos went viral. The initial clip sees Lebron talking about looking “demure and modest and respectful” at work, and it attracted over 30 million views on this social media platform.

This was only the first in the series of Lebron’s viral clips that see her explaining how to be “demure” in all sorts of different situations, from doing your nails and ordering food to going to the airport and talking to hotel staff.

“Demure” can literally be translated as reserved, modest, and shy, and Lebron told CBS Mornings “Your demure is what it means to you. It’s being mindful and considerate of the people around you, but also of yourself and how you present to the world.”

The “demure” trend made its way to everyday life because it’s simply fun to say it, but people are also using it in an ironic fashion, as a way of poking fun at the performative femininity connected to this word.

Instagram is home to more amazing nail artists than we can count, and it can be difficult to make a mark, but that didn’t stop Marnie Boswall from trying. She’s the mastermind behind The Naillologist, one of Instagram’s top spots for nail art lovers looking for inspiration.

Boswall has been on quite a journey since buying her first gel kit in 2020 out of sheer boredom, but she found the experience of working on her own nails so therapeutic that she couldn’t stop. Once she started creating several looks in a single week, she decided it was time to collect them in one place, and that’s how The Naillologist was born.

Boswall’s favorite part of doing nails is coming up with amazing new ideas for her next manicure, and her creative process involves several steps. She enjoys figuring out the color/theme for her next design and sketching out a few different ideas before painting her nails.

Her strategy seems to be working, and she’s one of Instagram’s top spots for nail art inspiration, with over 270,000 followers under her bet. Surprisingly enough, she’s not even doing nails for other people, because she’s too focused on coming up with amazing new designs to share with her Instagram followers.

Instagram can often feel like a toxic and overwhelming place, so it’s always comforting to stumble upon pages that make you feel less alone. People I’ve Loved is one of them, and their uplifting, gently honest illustrations feel like a hug from an old friend.

People I’ve Loved was founded by Carissa Potter, who used to work at Colpa Press before deciding to start a company of her own. Over a decade had passed since, and she gathered a group of talented artists around her, who are running People I’ve Loved by each other’s side.

People I’ve Loved illustrations are created with one goal in mind – facilitating connection between people and helping them search for the miraculous yet tragic definition of what it means to exist in this time and space.

“Giving in to nostalgic thoughts, buried longings, and hope for the future—People I’ve Loved embraces the whole range of human emotion. We revel in the grey areas and want to make space for your tears and your joy, in equal measure,” reads Potter’s official website.

Potter’s comforting illustrations attracted over 900,000 followers to People I’ve Loved’s Instagram page, and this brand is now selling everything from prints and greeting cards to journals and notebooks inspired by their art.

Every once in a while, we get a celebrity pet so adorable they’re destined to become a star in their own right – and Glen Powell’s dog Brisket is one such pet. He stole the show from his famous owner time and time again during the promo tour for his latest box-office hit Twisters.

Despite not appearing in Twisters for a single second, Brisket became somewhat of the film’s unofficial mascot, and that’s not a coincidence. He adopted him while filming this project, after feeling a sudden urge to take care of someone.

“I was going through a breakup at the time and was in the middle of Enid, Oklahoma, and I had always wanted a dog. It was something I thought about a lot, but it was somewhere in this coffee shop in Enid…. I don’t even know how to describe it, I just had the desire to be a father,” he told Entertainment Weekly.

Powell took the weekend off filming to fly from Oklahoma to Los Angeles and adopt Brisket from the Labelle Foundation. He quickly became everyone’s favorite crew member on the set of Twisters and brought everyone closer together. Once the film finally came out, Powell decided to honor his pet by bringing him along for a promo tour, and Brisket joined him during several red carpet events, photoshoots, and interviews in recent weeks.

One of the best things about art is its power to transport us to a brand-new world that we wouldn’t get to experience any other way. Jocelin Carmes’s illustrations are a case in point, and they’ll take you to mythical new realms that cast an eerie glow.

Carmes is a successful visual development and concept artist from Marseille, France, who pursued his degree in graphic design at the prestigious École de Condé. He decided to use the power of social media to put his work on the map and ended up attracting over 400,000 followers to his Instagram page.

Carmes finds inspiration everywhere he turns, especially in cinema, photography, and the work of other artists. His illustrations look straight out of this world, while still offering glimpses of our daily life, providing a perfect balance between decay and bloom, beauty and madness.

Carmes’ duality is the main thing that will draw you to his illustrations, and it’s truly awe-inspiring that they manage to be eerie and serine, all at once. The sense of loneliness is always lurking beyond the horizon because his illustrations often feature lone heroes, but Carmes wants people to visualize themselves in their place when they look at them and imagine what it’s like to inhabit these eerie worlds.

Everyone seems to be obsessed with Bridgerton these days, and our favorite nail artists are no exception. Jasmin Hirsemann of Base Coat Stories is a huge fan of Netflix’s hit period drama, and she created a series of delicate looks inspired by her favorite characters.

Hirsemann’s love affair with nail art goes years back, but she didn’t think she’d come this far at the start of her journey. She was inspired to give it a shot after watching nail art tutorials on YouTube, but always felt like she’d never be able to reach the same level of perfection as her favorite artists.

As her skills developed over the years, she finally decided to share them with the world, and her leap of faith certainly paid off. She went from working in retail to being one of the most popular German nail artists, with over 240,000 Instagram followers under her belt.

Hirsemann caught our eye with a recent series of manicures inspired by her favorite Bridgerton characters. The first video generated millions of views and perfectly mimicked the delicate patterns of outfits worn by Colin Bridgerton, Penelope Featherington, and Will Mondrich. Its viral success inspired her to make another, which pays homage to Francesca Bridgerton, Tilley Arnold, and Eloise Bridgerton.

Traveling solo is one of the most empowering things you could possibly do, but it can also be extremely terrifying. Ashlee Major-Moss experienced this first-hand, but she managed to put the fear behind her and gain the courage to hit the road and become a full-time traveler.

Major-Moss found herself in a pretty dark place before becoming a travel influencer with over 170,000 Instagram followers under her belt. She lost her job, her relationship, and herself, but traveling helped her find her way back to things she really wanted to do.

After several solo trips across Asia, her online platform started growing and she later managed to turn it into a full-time career. She connected with a lot of solo travelers while staying at hostels, but her content is much different these days, and she’s using her platform to promote lavish hotels around the world.

Despite her success, Major-Moss has always been open about the fact that traveling solo isn’t a bundle of roses, especially for women of color.

“You have to stay vigilant and make smart decisions. I have definitely had frightening and uncomfortable situations. But I think it’s really important to get comfortable being uncomfortable, it encourages you to grow and open your mind to new and amazing experiences,” she writes on her official website.

2D designs that look straight out of a cartoon have been gaining traction in recent years, and one fashion brand from Taipei used this trend to its advantage. Jump From Paper specializes in making adorable 2D handbags that look like a walking optical illusion.

2D designs took over every aspect of our lives, from food to home décor, and Jump From Paper is one of the brands using them to change the face of fashion. They’re based in Taipei and specialize in making fashion accessories that look like they’ve jumped out of pages of a comic book.

According to their official website, this brand “plays with graphics and illustrations to create real-world bags that literally look as if they jumped from paper.” Their handbags with a two-dimensional appearance will help you turn heads and bring a dash of fun to every look.

When you see Jump From Paper’s photos, their bags look like they’ve been drawn on, and you actually have to see them on the move to realize how inventive their designs actually are. They’re quirky optical illusions brought to life, and each one will make you do a double take.

Handbags, backpacks, and shoulder bags are among Jump From Paper’s bestsellers, but they offer a wide range of accessories with a 2D feel, including wallets and purses.

The Inside Out sequel has broken several box office records since hitting the theaters, and it’s now the subject of the latest viral meme. Posts captioned with “Inside Out if it was filmed inside my head” are having a moment on social media, and they’re paying homage to many iconic pop culture moments.

Inside Out is set in a world where human emotions take personified forms. The first film centered on a young girl Riley grappling with Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust, and Anger after her family moves away, while Inside Out 2 saw her coming to terms with many new emotions as she enters her teenage years.

As the second film took theatres by storm and crossed the $1 billion mark at the box office, the Inside Out franchise gained traction on social media and became a true viral sensation. It inspired many viral memes along the way, and “Inside Out if it was filmed inside my head” is the latest to take the world by storm.

This viral meme sees people joking about which emotions would be pulling the strings if Inside Out was set inside their heads. Many groups of beloved, and often unhinged fictional characters made the cut, ranging from the Roy siblings from Succession to the dysfunctional Berzatto family from The Bear.
