Justin Favela creates colorful artworks that are focused around his identity and self-exploration as queer Latino-American artist living in the Southwest. Justin uses piñata to present his Mexican and Guatemalan heritage and explore elements which are associated with his family, pop culture, food dishes, and the art world.

The sculptures are a great example of using many details in order to add much-needed distinctive feeling to his work. The sculptures offer a very witty presentation of a complex set of social themes which all merge into a unique expression of the individuals’ very own understanding of them.

Favela is using the piñata as a medium because it’s a perfect symbol that stands for his identity, and by using it, he reclaims the piñata and the whole culture it represents. One of Favela’s large-scale low-rider piñatas was recently included in the Peterson Automotive Museum’s exhibition.

Ede, a.k.a “Ninja nan“ has a goal to get a black belt in karate as soon as possible. Her grandkids think that she’s cool, but Ede refers to herself as a nutter. Despite her–criticizing opinion, Ede is very persistent to achieve her goal, and she’s fighting numerous obstacles every day to fulfill her wishes.

We got to have in mind that Ede’s physical condition doesn’t allow her to do all the martial–art tricks youngsters can do.

Her You Tube videos became very popular and many people find Mirjana’s work quite fascinating. Over the time, the videos have garnered more than 56 million views. Mirjana is at the very beginning of her popularity, so we can expect many more views and public approvals of her work.

According to Mirjana, the process of creating an illusion is not an easy one. She needs one day to relax, listen to some music and get inspired. After she gets in the creative mood, there is still a whole lot of things to be done in order to create an illusion. First, Mirjana needs to prepare her table and makeup and it’s not as easy as it sounds. After that, she needs to set up three mirrors and then comes the toughest and funniest part which is painting itself.

Depending on the complexity of an idea, the painting process can last from two to nine hours. In the end, every hour was worthwhile, and the proof of that are the astonishing results of Mirjana’s artistic effort.

The street passengers were asked to show on a map where are certain countries and continents. And, not only that they didn’t know where are the some European, Asian or African countries, but they couldn’t even find their own country on the map.

When asked to show on a map where is the North American continent, one of the L.A.’s locals put her finger on Asia. Some people didn’t know that Africa is a continent, and, when asked to name some African countries, they acted like it’s some sort of high-end knowledge. One guy even thought that Alaska was Greenland.

Burberry claims that the energy generated from burning its products was captured and it’s environmentally friendly. According to the spokesperson of the company, Burberry has careful processes in place to minimize the amount of excess stock they produce and in the occasions when disposal of products is necessary they seek responsible manners to reduce and revalue their waste.

Burberry had problems with counterfeiters who were sticking Burberry check on anything they could and such problems deteriorated the brand’s exclusive status.

In order to solve this problem, large fashion firms like Burberry need to destroy the unwanted products so they don’t get sold at a discount. Discount sales can cause the devaluation of the brand.

Another firm that was in the same situation as Burberry is Richemont, which owns the Cartier and Montblanc brands. Richemont had to buy back 480m worth of watches over the last two years.

Analysts say some parts of those watches would be recycled – but, anyways, much of them would be thrown away. Lu Yen Roloff of Greenpeace thinks that these fashion firm practices are a dirty secret of the fashion industry.

The company aims to have the strawberry green straws phased out from its 28,000 locations across the globe completely by 2020. In a statement, the company emphasized its commitment to the sustainability cause and promised to eliminate over 1 billion straws from its locations around the world every year.

Despite its 2020 D-day, the company is already making moves to make it happen. Starbucks locations in Vancouver and Seattle will see the straws replaced starting as early as this fall. The move will then spread to other locations as planned.

In place of the green straws, Starbucks will be offering cup lids without the straw holes. For customers that can’t do without the usual straws, the company has a solution in form of alternative straws made from biodegradable plastic and paper.

It’s expected that the alternative straws will be offered automatically to anyone that orders for a Frappuccino, although anyone who asks for them will get them too, regardless of their beverage.
