]]>Velez is a mixed-media artist based in Poland, whose fascination with nature can be traced back to his childhood years. He used to spend countless hours browsing through encyclopedias and trying to copy the most impressive illustrations he came across.
Those years are long behind him, but his wildlife illustrations remain a love letter to his roots. The animals in his art take up their space in between the handwritten notes, sometimes even merging together with Velez’s writing to create something extraordinary.
Velez sees himself as a mixed-media artist because he’s prone to experimenting with different mediums while working on his wildlife art. He usually turns to colored pencils, pens, and watercolors when trying to make his illustrations truly pop.
Another impressive thing about his illustrations is his incredible attention to detail and the ability to perfectly capture the singular characteristics of each animal. Despite being no stranger to the realistic approach, he wants his work to have a personal touch and capture the distinct beauty of every single creature.

]]>Kuzminski is based in Coquitlam, Canada, and the immense natural beauty of her home country has always been her main source of inspiration. She used to be a passionate runner, but a knee injury forced her to slow down and take up walking and hiking instead.
“Slowing down, I started to notice the informational signage on the trails. I actually took the time to read about the plants and animals in the area. I was drawn to the different types of birds shown in the pictures and started painting them,” she wrote on her Etsy page.
Heike spent over a decade working as an interior designer but decided to take up watercolor painting while her youngest kid was in kindergarten. As her fascination with birds grew, she decided to explore their beauty through art, and took part in a 100-day challenge on Instagram, painting 100 birds from all around the world.
Her love for birds didn’t fade away once the challenge was over, and she’s still painting them on a regular basis, using her unique style to single out features that stand out to her.

]]>Shulyak has been working with wool, using both dry and wet felting techniques for more than a decade now. It all began when she received a set of colored wool as a New Year’s gift from her friends. She decided to give felting a go and immediately liked it.
According to Shulyak, one of the reasons she enjoys expressing her creativity with wool is the endless possibilities that the material offers. Another was the reactions of people when they met her felted creations.
“I saw a childish resounding happiness in an adult holding in his hands what I had done,” Shulyak explains on her website. “Until now, it touches me, causes surprise and peace.”
The artist also shares that the inspiration for her felted creatures comes from the beautiful nature in her current home of Sakartvello, Georgia.
“At every turn, bizarre plants lie in wait for me, which inspire me to create new funny woolen babies,” she adds.

]]>In his comics, Craig imagines the conversations between animals in ordinary and extraordinary situations. They usually feature humorous remarks and spotlight the commonly accepted personalities of animals. Dogs are affectionate and curious, cats have a tendency to be sarcastic and self-centered, while fish are just focused on survival in the sea of predators.
These conversations can also be similar to those of humans but feature a unique twist depending on the species featured.
For example, in one of his comics, Craig imagines the talk between two pigeons resting on the top of a tall building. They admire the view and debate about how much the building costs, just like two humans would probably do. But since money isn’t a thing in the world of pigeons, they use breadcrumbs as currency.
Craig started sharing They Can Talk comics with the world in 2015, and they have since become quite popular on social media, including having 650K followers on Instagram. They also inspired two books and a calendar.

]]>Barrioz and Peyrou’s “Starbike”, as they named it, stands at 25 feet 5 inches, breaking the previous world record by 1 foot 2 inches. It features a standard bike seat, handlebar, regular-sized bike wheels, and even a bell. The only difference between Starbike and other bicycles is its massive frame and 53-foot-long chain.
Barrioz demonstrated the bike’s rideability at a showcase in the city of Clermont-Ferrand, riding it unassisted for 110 yards. He was attached to a zip wire as a safety precaution but ended up needing it as he successfully went from point A to point B.
Speaking with Guinness World Records’ official website, Barrioz revealed that he and Peyrou put in hundreds of hours to achieve this feat.
“This experience has completely transformed my worldview,” Barrioz shared. “Before this, I really needed self-confidence; I was shy and had a negative self-opinion. Now it’s better, and sometimes I feel unstoppable; I think I can repair, build, or design anything.”
Barrioz and Peyrou don’t intend to stop here. They now plan to claim another Guinness World Record by building the world’s smallest rideable bicycle. The record they need to beat is 3.31 inches.

]]>Tan is a Singaporean artist who creates some of the best coffee art you’ll see out there. It looks so amazing that even the most experienced and skilled baristas would have to tip their cap.
Most of the time, Tan creates 3D coffee art. Using foam, she is able to make cute ghosts, adorable animals, and pop culture characters that look like they are either taking a bath in the coffee cup or trying to get out of it in the real world.
Tan actually started making coffee art by chance. She attended a workshop in school on gourmet coffee and became passionate about coffee drinking.
“I was experimenting with a French press and found a method to create stable foam to make 3D art on top of my cups,” she explains.
Tan’s coffee art went viral in no time and gained her massive following on social media. To see why, check out more of her works below and get inspired to take your coffee experience to another level.

Among her whimsical creations are many trendy and seasonal characters, such as the ones inspired by Christmas, popular shows like Squid Game, and much more. But our favorites are all the lovely animals she makes with a lot of love. They look like they could be cartoon characters and as such are an amazing gift for any kid (or adult who’s still a kid inside).
Her message on her Etsy profile reads like this: “Hello to all! My name is Lidiya. I live and create my MarLi toys in Ukraine since 2012. I want to make the world more colorful, to give people [a] good mood and a bit of magic. My creations are for people from 0 to 100 years.”

]]>Jay often shares her creations on social media and makes sure to give props to insects in her posts. This includes attaching side-by-side photos of her works and bugs that the makeup was based upon.
In an interview with Bored Panda, Jay revealed that she had an interest in insects “for many years” and appreciates their diversity.
“With my makeup, I try to showcase some of the most beautiful species like butterflies or jewel beetles, but also give a little appreciation to those that aren’t as pretty and typically evoke a bad response, like ants or silverfish,” she said.
Jay started doing makeup based on insects just recently and viewed it as a fun side project. But thanks to the overwhelmingly positive response from the internet, she decided to put more time into it.
Her creative process starts by looking up photos of insects on the internet or checking out the recommendations from her friends. She then takes key colors and textures characteristic for each specimen and sees how they could translate to makeup. Some of Jay’s more simple creations take minutes to wrap up, but others, which are more complex, take a few hours.

While Rose and Matt have prominent roles, it’s her cats—Ted, Butters, Nemo, and Lil D (Dolores)—that are the stars of the show. They get in all sorts of funny situations that highlight their quirky and unique personalities.
Ted is described as a feline who has an interest in isolation and authority while enjoying things that are not socks. On the other hand, Butters is interested in sports, food, and Ted. Nemo likes attention and “flopping over,” while Dolores likes to play and be around her owner.
