His TikTok page describes him as “just a parrot doing parrot things”, and he’s actually a cockatoo with fluffy white feathers and a striking orange crest.
Beau’s owners are based in Calabasas, California and he’s been with them for 16 years. They welcomed more animals into their home in the meantime, including two boxers and one tortoise, and it’s truly amazing to see them all having fun adventures together.
Beau is one of those animals who make mundane things seem fun, and he gets thousands of views for simply eating food, walking up the stairs, or playing with new toys. The real magic happens when he joins forces with his owner, and it’s fun to see them do everything from skateboarding and playing games together to having screeching matches around the house.

]]>This Japanese sculptor creates adorable dog sculptures from wood, accurately replicating various dog breeds, including fluffy poodles, and plush pugs. Sano’s works also include the traits these dogs are famous for, like panting tongues and expressions of playfulness, joy, or curiosity.
Sano is inspired by man’s best friend even when she engages in other art disciplines besides sculpting. During winter, she turns to embroidery and continues to feature dogs as the main subjects of her artworks.
“I have used dogs in my work to express the various facets of femininity (some of them are based on female statues I personally admire).” – Sano explains on her website. “Dogs are always loyal to their masters. I make my work with the hope touchstart they will also nuzzle up to their audience.”
In a recent interview, Sano added that the dog sculptures and other art she makes are actually self-portraits to some extent. She told Colossal that her works are about “myself looking at myself” and that the form of dogs is an effective method to “materialize what I think of my inner self.”
Sano’s dog sculptures are no stranger to going on tours and being featured in exhibitions all over the world. If you can’t wait for them to get to your city, check out more photos below.

]]>The post Dog Sits on the Beach Every Day Waiting for His Fisherman Owner to Return appeared first on TettyBetty.
]]>Vaguito’s story became viral thanks to Twitter user Jolie Mejia, who recently spent time in Punta Negra with her family. According to Mejia, they were taking a walk along the shore when they met Vaguito. The dog seemed well-taken care of, but his owner was nowhere to be found. So she proceeded to pet him and found him very friendly, although she noticed the dog was frequently looking to the ocean.
Mejia set on a quest to find more about the dog and quickly found a local who told her a heartbreaking story. As it turns out, Vaguito’s owner was a fisherman who died a while ago. But despite this, the dog has been coming to the beach every day and watching at the ocean, hoping his human will return someday.
After Mejia’s tweet went viral, several other Twitter users said they knew about the dog and shared more of his photos.

According to Mejia, while Vaguito’s owner is not around anymore, the dog still receives a lot of love. Locals feed him and keep him clean while a woman living nearby shelters him and makes sure he receives health care when needed.

]]>The project is currently in its early phases and is being tested in the city of Södertälje. The crows are being taught to pick up cigarettes butts and bring them to a designated container. Each time they do that, they get rewarded with peanuts.
Christian Günther-Hanssen, the man behind Corvid Cleaning, envisions that this project could cut the costs of street cleaning for the city and help them use funds in other areas of need. Sweden has a significant issue with cigarette butts, which make up an estimated 60% of all the litter in the country.
“The estimation for the cost of picking up cigarette butts today is around 80 öre ($0.09) or more per cigarette butt, some say 2 Krona ($0.22),” Günther-Hanssen explains. “If the crows pick up cigarette butts, this would maybe be 20 öre ($0.023) per cigarette butt. The saving for the municipality depends on how many cigarette butts the crows pick up.”
The idea might seem far-fetched to some, but a video of crows in action shared by Günther-Hanssen shows otherwise.
However, before the project takes off, several more steps need to be covered. One of them is doing a study related to concerns about the negative impact of cigarette butts on crows.
“An important part of the upcoming pilot test is to monitor the levels of compounds in the birds, in order to remove the unknowns,” Günther-Hanssen adds. “Should any reach dangerous levels the project will be modified to exclude any items containing those compounds.”

]]>According to Paul Harfleet, the founder of the project, the idea to make a compilation of drawn feathered friends began in April 2020 when the lockdown was announced.
“As I sat in my apartment overlooking a clearer, quieter London skyline, I noticed the birds more than ever and my passion for ornithology re-emerged,” the artist shared on Bored Panda and added that he began drawing birds he could see from his window.
To promote his work on social media, he came up with a fantastic idea; he began dressing up like his feathered friends. “These humorous and light-hearted shoots used my own wardrobe and makeup skills and became an intrinsic component of a project that has become known as Birds Can Fly,” he added.

“Thailand is a wonderful country to live in,” said Chueobchoey in an interview with Lake. “I was born and raised in a Thai-Chinese family. I am originally from a small town in the countryside of Thailand. I am influenced by the integration into two cultures. That has inspired me in some way and I would like to include it into my illustrations.”
After graduating with a BFA Communication Design, Chueobchoey moved to the US to continue her studies. “It was quite a challenging experience living alone in the US for a year,” she admits. “It was fun and I have learned to deal with anything by myself. At that time I had no clue about what I wanted to be. So, I took a short course at the Academy of Art University. And I figured out I wanted to be an illustrator.”
So she returned to Thailand, where she first worked in graphic design before transitioning into a freelance illustrator and surface designer. Now committed to illustrating, Chueobchoey works mostly with watercolors but also employs gouache and ink to create her illustrations and floral patterns.

“When I began working independently, I started with small suspended pieces,” she shared in an interview with the Etsy blog, “but I wanted to take the idea of hassle-free installation even further and create something where people wouldn’t need to worry about nails or drilling holes in walls.”
Her solution? Attach the stained-glass pieces to brass bars, achieving independent objects that can easily be brought into peoples’ homes, with no hassle of actually hanging them. Naturally, the quality of the materials is equally important when it comes to their design. “I measure the quality of the glass not only visually, checking for color and cleanliness—or the lack of any extra coating—but also by touching,” says Zaycman. “Glass should be pleasant and smooth.”
