]]>The result is a soft, nostalgic landscape colored in light pinks and browns. Common themes include wood critters, illustrated playfully in ways that appeal to both children and adults. Featured on products like enamel pins, notebooks, coloring books, notepads, and greeting cards, her work makes for ideal gifts, aimed specifically at young parents.
And with clients including brands like Papyrus, Little Blue Nest, Craft Consortium, Lilipinso, and Lake Coloring, as well as a massive following online, the demand for cute animal prints is clearly high.
โI love creating animal characters,โ says Stajner. โIn my body of work, they are mostly coming from a woodland environmentโthat is because I draw things that are close to me and I can see in person if I am lucky,โ she adds.

]]>It all began with the birth of her first child. โI designed her birth announcement and I really loved working on the illustrations,โ she relayed in an interview with the Printed blog. Soon, an experimentation with color and shapes began. โMy first illustrations were mainly colorful animals, personalized name prints and cartoons,” she says.
Years later, and now a proud mother of two, her brand is steadily growing, introducing more designs and merchandise. With a background in fashion design, Poppekins provides a different sort of creative outlet for van der Meer.
And with two small children running around, inspiration is aplenty. โThey inspire me every day with their curious outlook on life and all the funny things they say,โ she admits. โTheir colorful toys and books give me so much inspiration too.”
Here’s a brand that both children and parents can enjoy!

]]>Based in Liverpool, she now runs a successful Etsy store, where she sells her original merch which includes accessories, greeting cards, and homewares. But it’s her unique enamel pins that first caught our attention. โIโve been working in the creative industries for many years, but my greeting cards and pin designs are a recent side hustle that gives me a chance to express myself freely without working to brief,โ Harry relayed in an interview with the Printed blog.
โIโve always loved the idea of owning a shop since I was young and surrounding myself with beautiful things!โ she adds. โWhen I started creating my greeting cards I decided to setup an Etsy shop, which has been developing since. Pins and jewelry were a natural progression for me, Iโve always dabbled with jewelry making but never taken it any further until a friend introduced me to a company making enamel pins โ The resurgence in enamel pin designs over the last five years hadnโt gone unnoticed by me and I decided to make one!โ
Known for her bright and playful designs (that tend to stick to rainbow color palettes), her creations make for good, clean, fun. They also make for good gifts (hint, hint). Here are some of her more quirky enamel pins.

In addition to illustrating forย commercial and editorial clients, Ghahremani has illustrated childrenโs books and has been awarded and recognized by the Society of Childrenโs Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), American Illustration, the Society of Illustrators New York, and the Society of Illustrators Los Angeles.
A self-proclaimed โhermit with wanderlust,โ she admits that it took time for her to get to where she’s at. โThe evolution to my particular style came in trusting what Iโd do naturally, rather than forcing it to be something conventional,โ she remarked in an interview withย Culture Crux. โUsing colors I like rather than the ones that are realistic. I think Iโm always refining my work and style as well, so itโs an ongoing evolution.โ

]]>And so, after careful deliberation, she decided to embark on her own creative journey, opening her e-commerce store, which allowed her to have full control of the creative reigns. Launched in 2015, her brand Katnipp is now in full swing, producing a range of paper goodies and pins featuring her original artwork.
โSlowly but surely, I have created designs, from custom portraits to hand-printed mugs (which I do myself in my little studio),โ writes Kay. โI can honestly say this is my passion, I am so thankful everyday that I get to create and illustrate cute things with some of my favorite colors & inspired by the things I love the most (Anime, coffee, books & animals).”
Her creative journey is documented on her YouTube channel where she shares the ins and outs of maintaining her online brand. Her style โ playful, naive, and undeniably cute โ tends to stick to bright, pastel colors. โBy zoning in on the things that make me happy, illustration cute pastel happy stuff made me happy, so I decided to explore this route,โ she explains.

]]>A juxtaposition of brushwork, text, and collage, her work is very much inspired by Japanese manga and anime aesthetic. โMany people are now familiar withย kawaiiย or Japanese โcute,โโ she told WOW x WOW. โI am interested in cuteness as an artistic tool. I deal with very serious and negative themes in my work. It takes a lot of bravery to face what scares us, or disgusts us, whatever is causing negativity in our lives.โ
Through a combination of motifs, that show up throughout her work, she hopes to create a sort of universal language – communicating her artwork to a wide range of audiences. “I want my work to be understood based purely on the image itself, without looking at explanations or translations,โ she says.
Based in Nagano, Japan, Shimoda has exhibited her work in galleries around the world, including Japan, the United States, Canada, and Europe. But you can also follow her on Instagram.

]]>Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, and currently based in Brooklyn, NY, Kaked admits she’s always loved drawing and story-telling, ever since being a small child. โIโve now grown into an artist/illustrator, with quite a broad and experimental approach spanning illustration, fine art, comic book design, toy design, ceramics, and pattern design,” she told Inky Goodness.
And much like her art, her creative process is a mish-mash of sorts. โMy studio really is a mess,โ she says, โbut then all of my work comes out of the chaos. If I had to summarise, I mainly stick to sketchbooks, pens, inks, brushes, acrylic gouache, resin, air-dry clay, glazes, tools for sculpting and masking tapes.โ
โI donโt really think that [thereโs] a distinction between my work and my hobbies,โ she adds. โI generally really like to be creative. Iโd happily just sit in a studio in my spare time and make 100 tiny ceramic miceโฆ that would make me super happy.โ

But life didn’t start all that easy for the tiny pooch. His mom, Julie Steines, adopted him when he was 4 months old through PetFinder.com. The only puppy in his litter, he was not in a shelter or rescue, but needed a special kind of home due to his tiny size.
Steines opted to name him Norbert after the dragon from Harry Potter, the American mathematician and philosopher Norbert Wiener, and Saint Norbert of Xanten. A great name for an even greater dog!

But worry not, though he looks pouty, this pooch enjoys living the high-life. According to his owner, Sprout’s hobbies include sidewalk cafes, rooftop parties, Central Park, and sleeping on the subway. โOn occasion, I engage in dog-like behavior, namely, playing fetch, barking incessantly at toys I have intentionally dropped off the couch, and zooming around the living room for no apparent reason,โ says his website.

His favorite pastimes are dressing up and making appearances across North-America. โHeโs very aware and also curious,โ said his owner in an interview with Hello Bark. โHe can tell how the people around him are feeling and will act accordingly. He loves playing fetch and find the toy.โ
But it took Chewy some time to make it as an Instagram pooch. A rescue from Northern Ontario, he was born sick and skittish, and his owners were afraid he wasn’t going to make it. He was also very scared of people and often hid under the couch. Luckily, with proper care and lots of love he’s now a happy dog. He also enjoys bonding with children and accompanies his mother – a teacher – to her workplace.
