The post Artist Creates Fascinating Drawings Using Typewriters appeared first on TettyBetty.
]]>This UK-based artist is creating beautiful black and white portraits and landscapes by arranging punctuation marks, numbers, and letters and typing them on a piece of paper.
“There is something fascinating about using the 43 keys of a typewriter and using the various shapes of the punctuation, letters, and numbers to arrange and configure onto a piece of paper to create a desired shape or type of shading,” the artist told My Modern Met.
Cook explained that his work is inspired by an American typewriter artist, Paul Smith, who suffered from cerebral palsy but was still able to create beautiful art using typewriters.
Over the years, Cook created almost 100 pieces of art using 30 different typewriters from his collection—some of them made in the 1950s. However, one of his greatest accomplishments happened recently when he finished working on the largest typewriter drawing ever created. It was a commissioned piece, made up of more than 100,000 symbols and is around 4 feet x 3 feet big.

]]>“I made these drawings using fineliners. What I like about working with ink is that it is final, and there is no correction,” the artist shared in a post on Bored Panda. “The images flow from my mind. Things I see in my day to day life morph into my little surreal reality that makes me laugh, admire, and marvel. It makes me reflect on the things I do and why I do them in that particular way.”
From frogs having big teeth, a monkey riding a banana-horse to a rat race, the artist’s works are truly unique. Scroll down and check them out. Which one is your favorite?

]]>Inspired by built form, as well as nature, his art is cerates as a way for Tulay to investigate the ambiguity of space. Coming from a background in architecture, this ambiguity intrigues him greatly. “As an architect, I meticulously create drawings to reveal and describe a building’s design and construction,” he writes on his website. “In my art studio, I am able to break from all these conventions and push the gravitational and spatial boundaries of these spaces I imagine.”
Light, or what looks like atmosphere or fog, is engaged in either defining space or dematerializing the landscape or architectural elements depicted in his artwork. This treatment of light, combined with an unclear relationship of the viewer’s place in relation to the ground plane, creates a spatial disconnect with an ambiguity of depth and motion.

]]>Paul is what some would call an educated artist. He obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts diploma from the University of Texas in San Antonio and later received a master’s degree in painting from the University of Montana. After spending a semester in Italy, Heaston switched to sketching for good.
Heaston’s drawings provoke sudden intrigue and excitement, as he draws the very things he sees in front of him. He does not miss a chance to take out his pen and notebook and start the magic. He spends a lot of time every day portraying his children, wife, and friends in everyday situations. But that’s not all! You won’t see this guy losing time scrolling on his phone when waiting in line, commuting or traveling by plane. If he’s bored, he’ll show you how bored he is by drawing a sketch!

]]>This talented artist uses just colored pencils and markers to make her drawings which are often large-scaled. Her works usually focus on things she finds during her travels including nostalgic items like scratch tickets, crushed soda cans, and slot cups.
“I work on subjects that reflect a feeling of nostalgia and brashness, using the cracks, folds, and rips to bring excitement into the drawing… The largest pieces taking 70+ hours to complete, I enjoy the tiny details I have to pencil in that our naked eye almost always misses — similarly as these objects are forgotten, I say — hang them on your walls!” – says McGoldrick.

The drawings are both funny and weird and when recreated, they are funny to watch. Sometimes, multiple images are manipulated with one drawing and the results are amazing. Scroll below to find some of Dom’s master art. They are so adorable and may push you to consider a career change.
