Timothée Chalamet is one of the biggest rising stars in Hollywood, and a group of New Yorkers recently hosted a lookalike contest in his honor. The Oscar-nominated actor had a chance to do the funniest thing ever, and he actually did it, appearing in disguise before revealing he’s the real Timothée Chalamet.

The star of the Dune franchise is one of the most recognizable Hollywood heartthrobs of his generation, and he’s been acting since his teenage years. He received his first Oscar nod for Call Me by Your Name and went on to star in such acclaimed films as Lady Bird, Little Women, Bones and All, and Wonka.

Chalamet has an army of fans, especially in his hometown of New York City, where YouTuber Anthony Po decided to organize a lookalike contest in his honor. The event with a symbolic prize of $50 attracted a large number of the actor’s curly-haired doppelgängers, and even had to move to a different location, but they didn’t know he was hiding in the crowd.

Chalamet stayed hidden behind a mask and baseball hat, but not for too long. After the winner was announced, he decided to show face, waving, greeting people, and posing for photos with some of his doppelgängers, while pushing his way through the crowd of screaming fans.
