Berlin-based Jewelry brand WALD makes unique pieces that are a summer dream, literally speaking. Handmade by a collective of women who would otherwise be unemployed, the ethical brand makes use of shells and corals, with each of their pieces truly one of a kind.
Stylist Dana Roski and Model Joyce Binneboese originally started WALD as a concept boutique in Mitte, Berlin around 2012. After taking a creative break, they decided to open WALD Boutique as an online store, which in turn inspired them to launch their own brand in 2018.
Since their work incorporates shells and corals, they make sure that those aren’t on the protected species list, by working closely alongside German biologists.
Inspired by ’90s nostalgia and trips to the beach, their trendy pieces have been featured in publications like Vogue, Marie Claire, and Elle; and with almost 40k followers on Instagram, it’s clear that WALD isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
