]]> There’s an old saying that a dog is “man’s best friend”—and while that saying is all heartwarming, people usually tend to take it with a grain of salt. After all, dogs will always have a certain barrier that can’t be crossed with humans: the language barrier. At least, that’s what we thought until we learned about the incredible Colt Blue.

Colt Blue is a Catahoula dog that “speaks” to his owners. It’s truly a wonderful thing to witness, almost like you’re in the presence of a certain brand of doggy evolution. Colt Blue’s journey, and quirky talents, are displayed proudly by his owner on an Instagram page that currently has over 137,000 followers.

It’s not hard to see why Colt Blue has so many followers. If you’ve ever had a love for dogs, you’ll immediately fall in love with this brilliant pooch. His owner is constantly posting videos where she converses with Colt Blue in a seemingly matter-of-fact way.

]]> Queso, a Chicago rescue pup who loves cheddar cheese and kissing strangers has the most boopable nose. Part Pomeranian, part American Eskimo, part Pomsky, among his hobbies is digging at the beach and eating treats (his favorite snack is, quite naturally, cheese).

With thousands of followers on Instagram, Queso is slowly but surely taking over Petstagram. But his start wasn’t as easy. According to his owner, Sarah McVey, when Queso was a young pup, he lived in an Alabama shelter until there was a flood and he got lost. Thankfully, The Almost Home Foundation brought Queso and other dogs to Chicago to find forever homes.

“We first met at a foster’s home who was watching Queso while he was up for adoption,” recalled McVey in a chat with Swooft. “He had rashes on his belly, kennel cough, and an ear infection, but he was still smiling and happy to see us!”. As it turns out—it was love at first sight.

Making the case for “adopt—don’t shop”, these days, Queso is living it up. A celebrity in the making, he has even strutted on the pink carpet to raise money for One Tail at a Time. “Queso is great at posing (if treats are involved) so it doesn’t take too long to get a good picture,” says his owner. “I like to consider the timing of the post and if there’s a good holiday or trending topic to partake in, but for the most part it’s all about his normal life and activities.”

But McVey still admits it’s hard for her to wrap her head around her pet’s celebrity status. “Queso was recognized at the airport by a stranger and it was the most exciting day ever!” she exclaimed. Show him some love on Instagram:

His posts most often reference his size, as he stands beside various fruits and vegetables. Larger than an apple, his size might be compared to that of a pineapple. The delicate pooch is often seen sticking his tongue out, or stretching his paw out for a high-five.

According to Cedric’s owners, he was actually left last in his litter because of his (rather adorable) overbite. “I was the last puppy left in the litter that no one wanted because I have a severe overbite,” said Cedrick in an interview with Dog Whisperer HQ. “My humans knew my biological father and that’s how they learned about me. They had been wanting a small dog that they could easily travel with.”

“When they first saw me in person, they were surprised,” noted the pup. “I had seemed much bigger in the photos and videos. They were terrified that they would accidentally step on me or hurt me. We got to know each other over a few weeks and they stopped worrying as they saw I was very smart and careful.”

We can’t think of one good reason for not following tiny Cedric. Recent videos include comparisons between Cedric and Easter eggs and a compilation of impressive dog tricks he’s learned over the years.

“His collection of Hawaiian shirts work well in the Miami weather,” remarked his owner Chris Ha in an interview with Django. “He is sort of known for sporting sunglasses. When I put them on his head, he freezes in place, which is actually perfect for taking photos.”

Based in Toronto, Canada, Remix’s fashion career has taken him around the world, from California to Puerto Rico. And with a following of nearly 146,000 on Instagram and features in top-tier fashion publications like ELLE, Glamour, and Mr. Porter, this stylish puppy is making a splash both online and offline.

“When I first started Remix’s account, I spent a lot more time on it,” says Ha. “Now, I spend 3 to 4 hours a week on it. I shoot a lot of content ahead of time. Whenever I am, I take photos or videos in a few different ways. Then I post it as I go, so I do not have to focus on it constantly.”

One of Remix’s best features: his carefully trimmed beard. His fluff has also earned him the nickname “Stylish Bearded Pupster”. Other nicknames include “Grumpy Pup”.

]]> Nothing brings us more joy than silly-looking pups, especially if those pups sport a cute overbite. We’re hardly alone with our fascination with derpy dogs. Case in point: Instagram megastar Tuna. A 10-year-old Chiweenie (a mix between a Chihuahua and a Dachshund), Tuna has so far amassed a following of 2 million strong and is obviously more famous than we’ll ever be.

Adopted in 2010 at a Farmers Market in LA when he was a four-month-old puppy, Tuna’s owner, Courtney Dasher, admits she never thought of her pup as a celebrity in the making. But only two years later, he skyrocketed to fame after Instagram featured a picture of him on their personal page.

“This unconventional-looking dog is being used to bring joy and make people happy,” Dasher shared in an interview with Vice. As it turns out, Tuna also helps others overcome their fears. “One woman showed up to a book signing who had agoraphobia—she hadn’t left her house in years,” Dasher recalled. “This woman got over her fear, just to meet Tuna!”

Making the case for adopt-don’t-shop, Tuna also lends a helping paw to others in need. Most recently he appeared in an Essential Edition calendar, honoring Essential/Key workers. According to his owner, a dollar of every sale, plus a portion of proceeds, went towards benefiting multiple rescue organizations.

]]> When it comes to dogs, there isn’t a thing as too many. Harriet Birch, a dog walker from Harrogate in North Yorkshire, knows best. At 25 years old, Birch has a squad of sausage dogs.

Known online as Sausage Squad, the five daschunds, named Ivy, Missy, Button, Duke, Ivy, and Apple have gained a massive following online, thanks to their coordinated outfits and adorable adventures.

According to Birch, she got her first sausage pup, Missy, 10 years ago after begging her parents for one. Missy then went on to have two litters, from which she kept a dog from each – Button and Duke. But then Duke found a girlfriend and they had their own litter, with Apple completing the squad.

The viral squad has also gained some notoriety, after Birch admitted to spending around £800 a month on clothes, accessories, photoshoots, treats, toys, beds, blankets, food, and insurance.

“They are worth every single penny,” said Birch in an interview with Metro, admitting that they are definitely pampered pooches. “They have so many clothes, accessories, toys and we do so many activities, they go swimming every week and they do agility every week too,” she adds.

“He loves balancing,” assure his owners in an interview with BBC News. “Some people message saying that he looks sad… but that’s just his face! Its how they look! He loves it.” According to his humans, “Its all a bit of fun, but if any of the readers want to suggest something, he’ll give anything a go.”

Some of his viral photos include him balancing rubber ducks, a pile of donuts, and a hotdog. But it all started with a toy chicken. “My talent was unearthed by chance that night,” reads a blog post on Harley’s website. “I made dad throw my favorite toy chicken 34628193 times until he could throw no more. (1-0 Harlso). He thought it would be funny to balance it on my head… little did he know, I’ve a head flatter than his jokes. Sometimes he uses them to caption my posts… DAD JOKES… how embarrassing.”

Indeed, Harley’s owners say he has the perfect, flattest head. “He can’t do any normal tricks, sit or anything. Balancing things on his head is the only thing he can do.” Good boy Harley!

With chases, face kisses, and tail waggings, all being his favorite pastimes, Einstein is also described by his owner as a kindred spirit. “One of my favorites is when a close friend brought her newborn to meet us,” he shared a sweet memory of Einstein in an interview with Hello Bark! “I wasn’t sure how Einstein would do with the baby, but he was incredibly sweet and gentle with her. It was wonderful to see how caring he was with this tiny baby, and over the years their bond has gotten stronger and stronger.”

“If Einstein could only do one thing for the rest of his life, it would be sitting in my lap kissing my face,” he added, fondly. “He is loyal almost to a fault, and attached to my heels wherever we go.”

Being a rescue dog is also an important part of Einstein’s identity. “I was ready for a small dog, and was visiting shelters almost every day to find one that was a good fit,” he recalled. “One morning, I walked into a shelter and Einstein had been rescued the night before – there he was, staring up at me. I saw that he was a Havanese and I instantly knew he was my dog.”

]]> What’s better than a dog? A dog playing a musical instrument. Introducing: Acoustic Trench – a musical duo consisting of Trench, a musician, and his dog Maple. A multi-instrumentalist, Trench can play the guitar, harp, cello, and a dozen other instruments, while Maple tags along, sometimes “playing” the drums, other times intently listening.

The results are viral videos of a dog and a talented musician. And yes, it’s as good as it sounds. The two cover popular songs and hits (including some of our favorite rock and roll tunes) and have a huge catalog of music videos that they post on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.

In some of their more recent videos, you can also spot another member of the family: a rescue pup named Cherry. “She’s very shy & timid as she had a tough life before adoption but with lots of love and patience she’s learning to trust again and she has become very attached to Maple,” Trench wrote on his Twitter page. “She’s tiny and sweet, she’s Cherry.”

Part Chihuahua-part Small Poodle he’s 100% adorable, with a knack for making other people smile. A trained therapy dog, Norbert volunteers at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and by special request, putting his fame into good use.

But life didn’t start all that easy for the tiny pooch. His mom, Julie Steines, adopted him when he was 4 months old through PetFinder.com. The only puppy in his litter, he was not in a shelter or rescue, but needed a special kind of home due to his tiny size.

Steines opted to name him Norbert after the dragon from Harry Potter, the American mathematician and philosopher Norbert Wiener, and Saint Norbert of Xanten. A great name for an even greater dog!

]]> Beauty might not be defined by your size, but in the case of one tiny pupster—size makes all the difference. When you consider his miniature size, Chihuahua Cedric is making quite a splash online, amassing some 60,000 followers on Instagram.

His posts most often reference his size, as he stands beside various fruits and vegetables. Larger than an apple, his size might be compared to that of a pineapple. The delicate pooch is often seen sticking his tongue out, or stretching his paw out for a high-five.

According to Cedric’s owners, he was actually left last in his litter because of his (rather adorable) overbite. “I was the last puppy left in the litter that no one wanted because I have a severe overbite,” said Cedrick in an interview with Dog Whisperer HQ. “My humans knew my biological father and that’s how they learned about me. They had been wanting a small dog that they could easily travel with.”

“When they first saw me in person, they were surprised,” noted the pup. “I had seemed much bigger in the photos and videos. They were terrified that they would accidentally step on me or hurt me. We got to know each other over a few weeks and they stopped worrying as they saw I was very smart and careful.”

We can’t think of one good reason for not following tiny Cedric. Recent videos include comparisons between Cedric and Easter eggs and a compilation of impressive dog tricks he’s learned over the years.

]]> Remix the Dog is an embodiment of the expression “if you’ve got it, flaunt it!” The Miniature Schnauzer has earned a spot in the fashion world thanks to his flawless style. His wardrobe includes horn-rimmed glasses, Hawaiian shirts, and colorful bandanas. In other words: he makes for the perfect companion for a summer vacation.

“His collection of Hawaiian shirts work well in the Miami weather,” remarked his owner Chris Ha in an interview with Django. “He is sort of known for sporting sunglasses. When I put them on his head, he freezes in place, which is actually perfect for taking photos.”

Based in Toronto, Canada, Remix’s fashion career has taken him around the world, from California to Puerto Rico. And with a following of nearly 146,000 on Instagram and features in top-tier fashion publications like ELLE, Glamour, and Mr. Porter, this stylish puppy is making a splash both online and offline.

“When I first started Remix’s account, I spent a lot more time on it,” says Ha. “Now, I spend 3 to 4 hours a week on it. I shoot a lot of content ahead of time. Whenever I am, I take photos or videos in a few different ways. Then I post it as I go, so I do not have to focus on it constantly.”

One of Remix’s best features: his carefully trimmed beard. His fluff has also earned him the nickname “Stylish Bearded Pupster”. Other nicknames include “Grumpy Pup”.

]]> Nothing brings us more joy than silly-looking pups, especially if those pups sport a cute overbite. We’re hardly alone with our fascination with derpy dogs. Case in point: Instagram megastar Tuna. A 10-year-old Chiweenie (a mix between a Chihuahua and a Dachshund), Tuna has so far amassed a following of 2 million strong and is obviously more famous than we’ll ever be.

Adopted in 2010 at a Farmers Market in LA when he was a four-month-old puppy, Tuna’s owner, Courtney Dasher, admits she never thought of her pup as a celebrity in the making. But only two years later, he skyrocketed to fame after Instagram featured a picture of him on their personal page.

“This unconventional-looking dog is being used to bring joy and make people happy,” Dasher shared in an interview with Vice. As it turns out, Tuna also helps others overcome their fears. “One woman showed up to a book signing who had agoraphobia—she hadn’t left her house in years,” Dasher recalled. “This woman got over her fear, just to meet Tuna!”

Making the case for adopt-don’t-shop, Tuna also lends a helping paw to others in need. Most recently he appeared in an Essential Edition calendar, honoring Essential/Key workers. According to his owner, a dollar of every sale, plus a portion of proceeds, went towards benefiting multiple rescue organizations.

]]> When it comes to dogs, there isn’t a thing as too many. Harriet Birch, a dog walker from Harrogate in North Yorkshire, knows best. At 25 years old, Birch has a squad of sausage dogs.

Known online as Sausage Squad, the five daschunds, named Ivy, Missy, Button, Duke, Ivy, and Apple have gained a massive following online, thanks to their coordinated outfits and adorable adventures.

According to Birch, she got her first sausage pup, Missy, 10 years ago after begging her parents for one. Missy then went on to have two litters, from which she kept a dog from each – Button and Duke. But then Duke found a girlfriend and they had their own litter, with Apple completing the squad.

The viral squad has also gained some notoriety, after Birch admitted to spending around £800 a month on clothes, accessories, photoshoots, treats, toys, beds, blankets, food, and insurance.

“They are worth every single penny,” said Birch in an interview with Metro, admitting that they are definitely pampered pooches. “They have so many clothes, accessories, toys and we do so many activities, they go swimming every week and they do agility every week too,” she adds.

“He loves balancing,” assure his owners in an interview with BBC News. “Some people message saying that he looks sad… but that’s just his face! Its how they look! He loves it.” According to his humans, “Its all a bit of fun, but if any of the readers want to suggest something, he’ll give anything a go.”

Some of his viral photos include him balancing rubber ducks, a pile of donuts, and a hotdog. But it all started with a toy chicken. “My talent was unearthed by chance that night,” reads a blog post on Harley’s website. “I made dad throw my favorite toy chicken 34628193 times until he could throw no more. (1-0 Harlso). He thought it would be funny to balance it on my head… little did he know, I’ve a head flatter than his jokes. Sometimes he uses them to caption my posts… DAD JOKES… how embarrassing.”

Indeed, Harley’s owners say he has the perfect, flattest head. “He can’t do any normal tricks, sit or anything. Balancing things on his head is the only thing he can do.” Good boy Harley!

]]> When it comes to Instagram dogs, there’s no such thing as too many. Case in point: Einstein the Havanese rescue pup. Though small in size, his name attests to his great importance, at least when it comes to Instagram dogs. With almost 20k followers, you don’t have to take our word for that.

With chases, face kisses, and tail waggings, all being his favorite pastimes, Einstein is also described by his owner as a kindred spirit. “One of my favorites is when a close friend brought her newborn to meet us,” he shared a sweet memory of Einstein in an interview with Hello Bark! “I wasn’t sure how Einstein would do with the baby, but he was incredibly sweet and gentle with her. It was wonderful to see how caring he was with this tiny baby, and over the years their bond has gotten stronger and stronger.”

“If Einstein could only do one thing for the rest of his life, it would be sitting in my lap kissing my face,” he added, fondly. “He is loyal almost to a fault, and attached to my heels wherever we go.”

Being a rescue dog is also an important part of Einstein’s identity. “I was ready for a small dog, and was visiting shelters almost every day to find one that was a good fit,” he recalled. “One morning, I walked into a shelter and Einstein had been rescued the night before – there he was, staring up at me. I saw that he was a Havanese and I instantly knew he was my dog.”

]]> What’s better than a dog? A dog playing a musical instrument. Introducing: Acoustic Trench – a musical duo consisting of Trench, a musician, and his dog Maple. A multi-instrumentalist, Trench can play the guitar, harp, cello, and a dozen other instruments, while Maple tags along, sometimes “playing” the drums, other times intently listening.

The results are viral videos of a dog and a talented musician. And yes, it’s as good as it sounds. The two cover popular songs and hits (including some of our favorite rock and roll tunes) and have a huge catalog of music videos that they post on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.

In some of their more recent videos, you can also spot another member of the family: a rescue pup named Cherry. “She’s very shy & timid as she had a tough life before adoption but with lots of love and patience she’s learning to trust again and she has become very attached to Maple,” Trench wrote on his Twitter page. “She’s tiny and sweet, she’s Cherry.”

Part Chihuahua-part Small Poodle he’s 100% adorable, with a knack for making other people smile. A trained therapy dog, Norbert volunteers at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and by special request, putting his fame into good use.

But life didn’t start all that easy for the tiny pooch. His mom, Julie Steines, adopted him when he was 4 months old through PetFinder.com. The only puppy in his litter, he was not in a shelter or rescue, but needed a special kind of home due to his tiny size.

Steines opted to name him Norbert after the dragon from Harry Potter, the American mathematician and philosopher Norbert Wiener, and Saint Norbert of Xanten. A great name for an even greater dog!
