The post Influencer Spotlight: Oneika Raymond appeared first on TettyBetty.
]]>The author of the award-winning travel blog “Oneika the Traveller,” these days Raymond is a media personality, journalist, and keynote speaker, with over 115 countries under her belt. Her adventures include having bungee jumped over the Zambezi River, fished for piranhas in the Amazon, and climbed active volcanoes in Guatemala and Ecuador.
According to Raymond, she began traveling fairly late in the game, during her studies in university. “Eventually I realized it was travel that was really feeding me,” she recalls. “It wasn’t necessarily the idea of being away from home, but the idea of discovering, of learning something new every day, of stretching my boundaries and living outside of my comfort zone—that’s what I really enjoyed.”
And while traveling has been largely restricted due to Covid, Raymond’s posts include tips and tricks that will help guide you through these testing times. “It’s a strange time,” she admitted in a recent post. “Protocols and procedures vary wildly by destination and change frequently/rapidly. Be sure to check local, state, and federal public health websites before you travel for up to date information to avoid disappointment or getting caught off guard.”
Her positive outlook on life and bubbly personality to match will help brighten up your feed:

]]>A seasoned traveler, Cole is known for his entertaining travel content that has an added layer of education and provides a teaching tool for sustainable travel and community-oriented living. But with a moniker like FunForLouis, fun, and more importantly, passion is a core element to what he does.
These days, alongside his online platform, Cole teaches other influencers how to turn their passion into a booming business. His number one tip? Come from a place of being passionate about capturing and sharing moments and “not straight from this mentality that [you] want to make money or jump straight into having Instagram as a revenue generator or a business.”
“That’s an added bonus if you can get to that stage,” he noted in an interview with Entrepreneur where he talked about his business model, “but if that’s your initial goal, it could be quite tricky especially if you’re not enjoying what you’re doing. I think the audience can really notice that as well.”
Some of his more recent projects also include running The Social Good Club, striving to create a community designed to empower others to effect positive change around the challenges we face as a global society. We’re all for it.

]]>“I believe enjoying beautiful food with the people I love is one of life’s simple pleasures,” writes Alexander on her website. “Many of my fondest memories are from around the kitchen table; meaningful moments spent while sharing a meal with others.”
Indeed, when it comes to her upbringing, she admits to spending a lot of her formative years in the kitchen, cooking up a storm with her mum. A self-taught cook, Alexander recalls preparing three-course meals for dinner parties by the time she was 12!
“Whether it’s a quiet night in with friends or an extravagant Christmas lunch celebrating with extended family, these moments are treasured and are almost always centered around food,” she reflects.
According to Alexander, her love for food has inspired her to try new things and push her cooking skills, which now puts an emphasis on baking (her cakes alone have got us drooling!). With most of us homebound these days, now is a great time to refine our cooking skills and head to the kitchen!

]]>But if there’s one original witch that can actually produce food out of thin air it’s J.K. Rowling herself. All seven of the Harry Potter books are filled with mouthwatering references to food, starting with Dudley Dursley’s Knickerbocker Glory and ending with Cauldron Cakes. And then there’s the fan-favorite Butterbeer, consisting of a cream soda-meets-butterscotch flavor and a sweet whipped topping.
And while you can’t actually taste the Harry Potter books, many have tried to recreate the magic. For one thing, there’s the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios where even us muggles can visit Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. The tasty British fare includes dishes like The Great Feast, Fish and Chips, Shepherd’s Pie, Beef Pasties, Turkey Legs, and Fresh Vegetables.
There’s also the famous Butterbeer. “We found out very, very quickly when we opened that Butterbeer was definitely an overnight homerun,” admitted the corporate executive chef of Universal Orlando Parks and Resorts, Steven Jayson, in an interview with USAtoday. “Hands down, that’s the one thing that we’ve created here at Universal Orlando that stands alone.”
With most of us homebound, you can now experience the Wizarding World of Harry Potter even through Instagram, with a fan dedicated Instagram account documenting the theme park with its many book-inspired treats.

]]>This vegetable dye is a mixture of henna powder coming from a plant with the same name and other ingredients, like water or tea. There are many great Henna artists out there, but today we are introducing you to one of the most talented ones. Her name is Gopi Henna, and she is from San Diego, California.
Scrolling through Instagram, we came across her profile, where she posts images and videos of her beautiful art. Flowers, moons, mandalas, etc., are just some of the drawings she makes. Last year she made a trip to India, where she found more inspiration from astonishing décor.
To decorate other people’s bodies, Gopi uses the highest quality henna, which she makes herself. Besides working in her city, she also accepts requirements for events outside of southern California.

It’s about transporting people to different places and seeing things in a different light. I also love to experiment.”
Her content spans from lifestyle and fashion to travel, while her followers are invited to join in on her beautifully curated adventures to anywhere from Japan to the Maldives.
With an honors degree in Design from The University of New South Wales, Whiteman has pursued entrepreneurial roles and chased what she loves doing from a young age. ]]>“Get out of your own way,” reads one of her Instagram posts. “Get out of your head. Get it on to paper. Work through the doubt. Work through the unknown. Work through uncomfortable moments. Try things you are holding yourself back from doing. Make all the mistakes necessary for you to learn how to keep getting back up. It will help you in the long run.”
“It always seems impossible until it’s done,” reads another quote. “This quote is so encouraging to my heart to remember how I felt before I did it,” adds Holliday underneath her post. “Getting used to that feeling of being uncomfortable is actually the best soil for growth. My encouragement to you is to keep taking steps forward even if they are baby steps! Small progress is still progress.”
In 2019, Holliday received the Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant which was a great opportunity for her to showcase her work in the Minnesota community. And with more than 10k followers on Instagram, she has clearly inspired lots of people to take steps forward.

]]>“In late 2008, we had our pug friend Mabel staying with us while her humans were traveling,” said the pugs’ owners in an interview with Hello Bark, talking about the story behind the viral clip. “We posed all three for a photo tilting their heads (as many pugs do) and sent it to them as an email attachment. We then did a video similar to the photo while asking a few recognizable questions of them. ‘Wanna go for a riiiide, etc.’ We tried to attach it to an email as well but the file size was too large. We decided to upload it to our rarely used YouTube account and simply send them the link. (We also CC’d a couple dog friends who we thought might enjoy it.)”
Their clip was soon featured on the world’s biggest stages, including ABC’s Good Morning America, Ellen, and Regis and Kelly. Another version of the video also appeared on Jay Leno’s Tonight Show and several subsequent videos appeared on Animal Planet, making the pugs overnight celebrities.
Now, with more than 100k followers on Instagram, the pugs’ online presence is bigger and greater than ever before. It also serves a good cause, as the pooches’ owners use their social media platforms to promote pug rescuing.

But what really made us fall in love with Patel is her Instagram page which is an upliftingly wholesome haven in a sea of self-promotion and beauty gurus.
“I am interested in projects that add beauty to the world; help people feel more like themselves, and remind us of the oft-overlooked moments in our lives—because they are usually the best ones,” she writes on her website. “I am interested in exploring the intricacies of human connection, and I use my work to unearth the small yet vibrant stories found in everyday life. Like you, I have many worlds inside of me. I am sensitive but tough. I am pragmatic but free. I am a dreamer. I hope my work will always serve as a simple reminder: you are not alone.”
“What you can control lies within yourself: your thoughts and attitudes, your wishes and desires, and the perspective you choose to live by,” she adds in an interview with Freelance Wisdom. “We often blame our fear for keeping us from moving forward, but it’s our perspective of fear that truly holds power—it can imbibe us with strength and courage, or it can slowly destroy us. If you believe that everything that happens to you holds a lesson, you’ll be better equipped to find the lesson and learn from it. If you believe that there is purpose and meaning in difficult, you’ll find beauty in the obstacles you face.”
