These Hilarious Products Solve Problems That Don’t Exist

Matt Benedetto is a product designer from Burlington, Vermont and the creator of a series of products he named “Unnecessary Inventions”. Unlike most inventors who strive to create a product that would attract as many customers as possible, Benedetto designs products that aim to solve problems that don’t actually exist.

“While you may look at some of my inventions and think they may be useful or you may know someone who would actually use them, I assure you they are all completely and utterly unnecessary,” he wrote on Bored Panda.

Why is he creating all these things then? We don’t have a clear answer, but we feel like this might be his way of expressing his witty criticism on the consumerist society we live in today.

Despite the fact that Benedetto’s products are useless, they’re extremely funny. Who knows, maybe somebody would actually want to own some of them.
