When getting an Uber, most people are unsure whether to engage in conversation with their driver or sit in complete silence. If you chose the first option, you might get engaged in topics you are not comfortable talking about, while the second can make the ride feel quite awkward.

In order to make the choice easier for his riders, one Uber driver decided to create a unique “rider menu”. The photo of the menu was recently shared on Reddit by user u/internetboyyn and ended up amazing on the internet.

At the top of the menu, the driver introduces himself as Guy and prompts the riders to wear a seatbelt while notifying them that he has a charger for any type of phone in case they are low on battery. Next, he lists all the menu options.

The riders who take an Uber ride with Guy can opt to ignore the menu and “sit in silence”, skip the small talk and talk about “big stuff”, or simply share something that is on their mind. Additionally, there are options to “rock it out” to a variety of XM Radio stations, learn something about Guy, or simply get recommendations on restaurants and accommodations.

The “rider menu” earned praise from other Reddit users, who thought that the idea was genius.

“Damn I love this. This guy is fun,” one user wrote.

“lol. I’d find excuses to ride in this uber,” another added.

Most of us dream about quitting our jobs and traveling the world but never do it. However, UK couple Chris and Sam Hoar, made this dream a reality and are loving every moment of it.

Back in 2021, Chris and Sam bought an old Volkswagen van and spent 10 months rebuilding it into a home on wheels. Once their motorhome was finished, they quit their jobs and hit the road. Their first trip included an odyssey through Central Europe and included France, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Germany, and Italy, among other countries.

In February this year, the couple’s wanderlust took them to Scandinavia with the goal of seeing the Arctic Circle. They passed through Sweden and Finland before reaching Norway and are now on their way to the North Cape, the farthest point of the country they are able to reach with their motorhome.

“For us, we have never seen snow like this in all our lives. I’m talking seven foot of show outside right, with temperatures dropping to -23 degrees,” Chris shared in a chat with SWNS. “The weather has definitely tested the van properly being up here, but we still haven’t broken down, and the vastness of the wilderness all around us is breathtaking and unreal.”

Chris and Sam have been documenting their journey on social media, sharing clips and photos of astonishing destinations they have visited. Check out more of the footage from their Arctic Circle adventure below.

Back in 2022, Northern Virginia native Hannah Williams decided to quit her job as a data analyst and focus on her new career: being a TikTok content creator. Since then, Williams has become a huge TikTok star thanks to her viral videos in which she approaches people on the street and asks them how much they earn.

Williams, who posts under the handle Salary Transparent Street, doesn’t only have a goal of producing engaging content on social media. She also wants to tackle the issue of salary transparency, allow people to get a better idea of salaries for different jobs, and help them get paid more.

One of Williams’ videos that turned viral has been dedicated to the salaries of software engineers. In a clip that got more than 10 million views since being posted in February, software engineers from different states and with various experiences reveal that the salary for the position can range from $90K all the way to $500K.

Williams, who also established the Salary Transparent Street website to give job seekers more resources, has also been open about her own earnings. One of her recent videos revealed how much she earned from TikTok in 2023.

Yesterday, we had the immense honor of testifying in support of Maryland’s pay transparency bill! 🦀 Senate Bill 525 is a gamechanger for Maryland’s workers and business owners. 🙌 The current law requires employers to share wage information if job applicants request it, but this law would go a step further. It would require employers to share wage ranges in public AND internal job postings, promotions, and transfers. 🤑 And it protects workers by prohibiting employers from retaliating against applicants and employees for requesting this information. 🙏 I want to give a HUGE THANKS to the @NWLC for keeping me in the loop about this legislation, and helping me navigate the entire process. #salarytransparentstreet #salarytransparency #paytransparency #equalpay #closethegap #marylandlaw #workersrights #laborlaw

Talented artists don’t need much to get inspired and produce impressive artworks. For some, even everyday play items like a surveillance camera or a magnet can cause a creative spark and lead to something special.

Korean artist Rino Park, better known as Rinotuna on social media, has a habit of drawing inspiration from seemingly ordinary things and making extraordinary artworks. Park’s main focus is designing Anime characters based on things that surround him. In the past, he created characters using animals and insects as a reference but decided to turn to everyday items more recently.

“I like to create characters inspired by many things in the world,” the artist shared about his creative process. “I hope my works could show you the beauty of it.”

It appears that Park can create an Anime character from everything, no matter if it’s food, household item, or even something that is internet-based. He recently even presented an awesome design of a character for which he used the Discord logo as a reference. Unbelievable!

Rinotuna regularly shares his works on social media, where he amassed an impressive following that includes over 700K followers on Instagram alone. Continue scrolling to check out more of them below.

We were first drawn to Chloe Fleury’s Instagram for its vibrant color choices. Curated to perfection, it presents a vision of yellows, pinks, and blues—a summer dream packed neatly inside our phones. It was only later that we became acquainted with Fleury’s paper artwork, which is as colorful and delightful.

Born in France and now based in sunny Los Angeles, Fleury is an illustrator, prop stylist, and paper artist. A true color lover if we’ve ever seen one, she’s known for her eye-popping paper vignettes and three-dimensional paper sculptures. “I like to transform bright and flat sheets of paper into three-dimensional illustrations and displays,” said Fleury in an interview with Refinery29.

Describing her work as “colorful and fun”, she admits to letting color guide her when it comes to her playful creations. “Colors make me happy,” says Fleury. “I really love all the colors and it really depends on my mood. Some days I am more blue, some I am more pink or orange. Let’s just say I am really into neon colors lately—and turquoise!”

Her second great love is arts and crafts, or more specifically: making things with her own hands. “I’ve always loved making things with my hands,” she shared. “Later, I discovered stop-motion animation, and the part I loved the most in the process of making a short movie was to create the decors and little worlds.

Her projects can last anything between a day or two, and up to a full month for a short animation piece. Choosing the right materials is also important in Fleury’s line of work. “I’ve spent a lot of time finding the paper that I like, that is not too thick or too thin, easy to fold and curve,” she notes. “Same goes for the tools I use and the glue. It is important for me to use materials I feel comfortable with in order to be more detailed in my work. I am very meticulous.”

Miniatures artist Bridget McCarty describes her work as “shrinking real life into miniature.” And just one glance at her creations is enough to confirm this statement.

McCarty has impressive attention to detail that allows her to recreate all-things real-life into miniature pieces. This is best seen in her recent series of works that saw her rebuild sets from popular TV shows like Friends, Seinfeld, the Big Bang Theory, and more.

For example, in recreating Monica’s apartment from the iconic sitcom Friends, McCarty left no room for error. She not only fully furnished her kitchen with utensils, cookware, and food, but she also went one step further and made matching artworks and picture frames. Even the peephole on the apartment door has a characteristic yellow ring to make the recreation 100 percent accurate.

The artist reveals that she developed a fascination with miniatures thanks to her grandmother, who loved to collect figurines. While in high school, McCarty started making her own miniature pieces and occasionally sold them at conventions. The demand was surprisingly high, and when she turned 22, she decided to make it her full job.

“Creating miniatures can really take you away to another world,” McCarty explains. “My ideas can be found everywhere—from my favorite TV shows to theme parks.”

Check out more of her works below.

A UK woman named Sharon Hughes recently went viral for her unusual friendship with a group of wild foxes. As it turns out, Hughes has been feeding the same fox family for the past 25 years.

Hughes often shares her encounters with foxes on social media, and the internet can’t get enough of these videos. Most of the time, the foxes gather in front of Hughes’ porch and wait until she gives them something to eat.

The first TikTok, which Hughes shared back in February, received almost 18 million views. The clip shows foxes patiently waiting for each of them to receive a sausage roll and then running away to eat it in peace.

“We are now on the fourth generation of foxes. I remember feeding their great-grandparents,” Hughes shared with British media outlet Mirror.

Hughes also watches for the medical needs of the foxes. If she notices one of them is not feeling well or is hurt, she will contact a veterinarian or slip some medicine into their food.

On the other hand, foxes show appreciation for Hughes’ generosity by bringing her gifts.

“The foxes are very friendly and often bring us gifts like mice, which they leave on the doorstep,” Hughes added.

Han Yuming choose art as his career and moved from Jinan to Shanghai to learn illustration. When creating his illustrations, the freelance artist uses only Photoshop, AI, and Wacom to finish his work. He has been working digitally for years now, not using paper and pencil for a long time, and the final products are fascinating!

After moving homes, Yuming was working as a UI designer for a couple of years. Now he lives in Yantai, a coastal city of China.

“It just feels easier to create work in digital,” he said in an interview for Ballpit and added that social media like Instagram, Behance, and Zcool, as well as colleague artists, illustrators, and designers, inspire him the most. “I love every simple thing. Especially graphic illustration. Simple grey color. I’m moving in that direction.”

Yuming can get inspired by anything. He only thinks about “some keywords and makes some sketches, then colors it”.

Although he has a small following, he really hopes people will love his art and inspire them to feel happy and relaxed when they encounter his work.

If you are interested to see his creations, check out the gallery below. Don’t forget to give him a “follow” to support him.

Are you tired of boring office material? Well, maybe you should try getting some Omoshiroi blocks from the Japanese company Triad during your next haul.

Omoshiroi blocks represent the perfect mix of functionality and intuitive design. You get to have colorful notes and then end up with a perfect decoration piece for your office desk.

Triad offers various other intriguing paper products designed in a similar manner. For example, they have recently presented a calendar that works on the same principle. Triad creates Omoshiroi blocks in a number of different shapes and forms. They have recreations of popular Japanese architectural landmarks, objects like violins and cameras, and even a full 3D paper model of a train.

At first glance, Omoshiroi blocks are just your usual stack of paper notes. However, once you start using them, you discover their true form. Each note you rip off plays a part in revealing impressive 3D objects.

You rip out a piece of paper each day to reveal the date. At the end of the year, you get treated with a 3D paper sculpture of Earth’s landmarks or scenes from different seasons.

Triad creates Omoshiroi blocks in a number of different shapes and forms. They have recreations of popular Japanese architectural landmarks, objects like violins and cameras, and even a full 3D paper model of a train.
