]]>Yukhnyova is very passionate about art and has a degree in art history, so she became extremely dedicated to this project. Her initial plan was to participate in the challenge for 30 days. However, she ended up having so much fun that she extended the project for an entire year.
“One of my goals is enlightening people when they compare my photos with paintings. I want to highlight great paintings from different cultural traditions and show people that they are much closer to them than it seems. My replicas encourage everyone to look at the paintings in detail, I think it’s important,” she to My Modern Met.
So far Liza has recreated more than 150 paintings from different areas and genres and it seem like she’s getting better at it every day. It’s important to mention that all of her creations are made entirely with simple household items, and without the use of Photoshop, so Yukhnyova has to be very creative to stay on top of her game.

]]>This UK-based artist is creating beautiful black and white portraits and landscapes by arranging punctuation marks, numbers, and letters and typing them on a piece of paper.
“There is something fascinating about using the 43 keys of a typewriter and using the various shapes of the punctuation, letters, and numbers to arrange and configure onto a piece of paper to create a desired shape or type of shading,” the artist told My Modern Met.
Cook explained that his work is inspired by an American typewriter artist, Paul Smith, who suffered from cerebral palsy but was still able to create beautiful art using typewriters.
Over the years, Cook created almost 100 pieces of art using 30 different typewriters from his collection—some of them made in the 1950s. However, one of his greatest accomplishments happened recently when he finished working on the largest typewriter drawing ever created. It was a commissioned piece, made up of more than 100,000 symbols and is around 4 feet x 3 feet big.

Every time he goes for a walk and meets some of his dog friends, Wallace can’t help but greet them with a hug. His owner says that the corgi is very respectful and always makes sure that it’s okay to hug another dog.
“He is very playful and beyond sweet, he loves to cuddle and give hugs and kisses. He ONLY hugs his friends and family. He does not hug random dogs. I want to stress that he is not showing dominance when he does this. It’s really love”, Wallace’s owner told Bored Panda.
Unlike other dogs who may bark at other animals, Wallace is extremely affectionate not only with his dog friends and family members but with everyone. His owners say that they’re very lucky to have this short-legged guy in their lives.

Evans is a big fan of cycling, nature, and sustainable living, and he found a perfect way to combine all of these interests into an amazing hobby. The artist’s love for nature can be easily noticed in his sculptures, as most of them are inspired by trees, animals, and other motifs from nature.

]]>This creative artist, who is very fond of geek and pop culture, imagined what would happen if Mario Kart characters raced our favorite heroes from other universes. The result is a series of colorful illustrations that are worth taking a look.
“I’ve been a real fan of Mario Kart since I was a child and used to play it on SNES,” the artist told Bored Panda. “I would love to experiment with a Mario Kart race in real life. But it may prove to be too dangerous! It makes me wonder how funny could it be to see all those MK characters, with their items, in a race against other famous drivers.”
The artist added that this was a perfect opportunity to experiment with a trichromatic effect. This means she used three shades of colors — one for the foreground, one for the background, and the third one for the characters’ items.

Years of curved folding paper have paid off and Verity is now able to create sculptures of kissing figures or faces smoking a cigarette.
“I tried to fold along the profile of a face, and I realized that I could tweak the paper on either side just very slightly and ease curves out to give volume and form,” the artist explained in an interview with Colossal.
“When I tried the same technique in watercolor paper, I suddenly had micro-control over the resulting curved forms and they became soft and sensual.”
