Anna Mason faced many ups and downs on her journey as an artist, but even a seven-year-long break from painting couldn’t keep her away from her true passion. She was instantly inspired after picking up a brush again, and her realistic food paintings quickly transformed her into a social media sensation.

Mason’s love for art was a defining part of her childhood, and she used to spend countless hours painting in her room in her youth. She put her creative aspirations aside later in life and decided to look for a more sensible career path, studying history, working in insurance, and pivoting to local government management by her mid-20s.

These jobs didn’t bring her much joy, but she remembered one thing that did. After seven years without painting, she decided to pick up a brush again and promised herself that the days of shelving her creativity were over. Her paintings helped her overcome many personal tragedies, especially after she became an art teacher and helped other artists follow their passion.

The days of struggling to find inspiration are long behind Mason, and she now sees it everywhere around her. She found viral fame and attracted 140,000 Instagram followers thanks to her ultra-realistic paintings of fruits, veggies, and other foods that perfectly showcase her attention to detail.

Many food artists enjoy making cakes inspired by our favorite cartoons, but no one is doing it like Keely Gonzalez. Keely’s Cake Studio founder is always looking for fun and silly ways to pay homage to our favorite cartoons through her creative birthday cakes.

Keely is a cake-maker from Fontana, California, who attracted over 40,000 Instagram pages through her baking experiments. She made a smart decision to focus on several types of cake designs that are extremely popular right now, including shag cakes and vintage cakes with a retro vibe.

Her style is pretty versatile and she can make a dream cake for pretty much everyone, but the ones that helped her go viral were mostly cartoon-inspired. They see her paying homage to our favorite animated shows through fun references that only the die-hard fans would understand.

The most notable example is the SpongeBob SquarePants cake she made last year, featuring a popular quote, “What’s funnier than 24? 25!” The viral video that shows her making this shag cake received over 13 million views on Instagram, becoming one of Keely’s most popular to date.

Its success inspired her to make more cakes themed around our favorite cartoons, including Scooby-Doo, The Powerpuff Girls, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Even the most talented artists sometimes struggle to capture the deliciousness of our favorite tasty treats, but not Julia Stankevych. This talented Ukrainian oil painter specializes in painting foods that look as mouth-watering as the real thing, and she’s using the power of social media to share her creative process with the world.

Stankevych has been painting for as long as she can remember, and art has always been her main source of comfort and serenity. She wants her oil paintings to evoke positive emotions, and she’s trying to find the brightest of colors in life through her art.

Food is the main subject Stankevych enjoys exploring through her body of work, and that’s not a coincidence. She wanted to challenge herself by using paint and canvas to convey the taste, smell, and sensation of food, and she developed a special impasto technique that involves preparing newspaper with gesso to make a shimmy texture for her future artwork.

One of the reasons why Stankevych’s Instagram page attracted such a huge following is her step-to-step videos that perfectly capture her creative process. We’ve seen her paint everything from donuts and macaroons to pretzels and croissants, and we got to witness every stroke of her brush as she tirelessly worked to bring these delicious treats to life.

No one likes to see their Oreo cookies get broken, but it happens too often. Sometimes you drop them or the Oreo pack just wasn’t handled with enough care to keep the cookies intact. But it turns out there is a simple solution for that.

Leo Burnett’s marketing agency recently came up with a genius campaign that encourages Oreo enthusiasts to “repair” their broken cookies using the traditional Japanese art of kintsugi but with a tasty twist.

Kintsugi is the art of fixing broken pottery where broken pieces get brought back together using gold. It has an underlying philosophy that breakage and repair marks shouldn’t be hidden but rather considered part of an item’s history.

Considering gold is quite expensive and would make your Oreos inedible, Leo Burnett recommends using Oreo cream in a tube.

The process, detailed in a video shared on YouTube, is quite simple. You apply the Oreo cream to the breaking points of the cookie pieces, join them back together, and get a whole Oreo cookie once again.

“Consumers often find broken Oreo cookies to be a disappointment, viewing them as imperfect and less enjoyable. However, the philosophy of Kintsugi teaches that there is beauty in imperfections and that items can become more valuable when repaired thoughtfully,” Leo Burnett shares.

Zuliya Khawaja spent years climbing the corporate ladder, until reaching the point when her six-figure job no longer brought her joy. She decided to look for happiness in other places and discovered her true passion when she started running her vegan food blog Naturally Zuzu.

Khawaja was born and raised in Uzbekistan, and she was in her twenties when she immigrated to the United States. It didn’t take her long to adjust to life in a new country, and she went on to become a successful real estate broker with a six-figure salary.

Despite reaching success in her career, Khawaja couldn’t’ shake the feeling something was missing in her life. She decided to take a break from her hectic job to explore things that brought her joy, such as dancing and cooking.

People in her life initially didn’t understand what she was going through and thought it was just a phase, but she kept extending her break. After a while, she decided that going back to her corporate joy was no longer an option because it never brought her as much joy as being in the kitchen and working on new recipes.

Khawaja’s leap of faith eventually paid off, and she went on to become one of the most popular vegan bloggers on social media. She also gained her plant-based nutrition degree from eCornell Nutrition Studies, was featured in several food magazines, and won Bravo TV’s competition show Top Chef Amateurs.

Are you craving cookies but feel like making a standard batch would be too much? Then you’ll love the viral video shared by TikTok user @dunkcookiesuk that shows you how to make the “world’s smallest cookies.”

The clip follows the standard recipe for cookies but is significantly scaled down. The baker uses just a tiny piece of butter, a sprinkle of flour, and a few flakes of chocolate.

The great thing about these cookies is that you are able to enjoy them without guilt, and as a bonus, they are baked astonishingly fast. It takes just 20 second and they are ready to get out of the oven.

Despite being meant mostly as a joke, the recipe actually worked quite well, as you can see in the video below.

The recipe for the world’s smallest cookies proved to be quite popular on social media. It received more than 10 million views and gave TikTok users some creative ideas.

“Wait, but these as cereal? Cookie crisp won’t stand a chance!!!” one person wrote in the comments section.

Even Google’s social media team took notice and pitched in a funny joke.

“Cooking for one can be so hard,” someone running Google’s official TikTok account wrote.

The “36 days of type” is an annual project that challenges designers, illustrators, and artists to offer their interpretation of the alphabet. Each year there are thousands of participants, with each of them offering their unique vision of the letters and numbers we use in everyday life. One of the most intriguing entries in this year’s challenge was Ben Chelouche’s food alphabet.

Chelouche decided to base his designs entirely around food, with each letter of the alphabet being styled as a food item that starts with that particular letter. For example, the letter “P” was shown as a pepperoni pizza slice, the letter “K” as a Kit-Kat bar, and the letter “G” as a mouth-watering bunch of grilled cheese.

Chelouche, who is a self-described “food lover,” revealed that he took part in the challenge in order to sharpen his skills and to have some fun in the process.

“Everything created on my page is personal work for my own growth, development of skills, and of course for fun,” the California-based artist explained.

You can check out some of our favorite Chelouche’s food letters below. But be vary, as each letter will probably cause some major cravings.

Japanese food artist Manami Sasaki often creates amazing pieces of art that are completely edible and one of her latest projects is this edible shoe that’s made out of toast. Previously, Sasaki has created art on regular pieces of toast but her last work is different. It represents a perfectly designed sneaker made with pieces of bread, edible flour and water glue, and some other toast ingredients.

“This is a vegetable toast with a focus on deliciousness! The parts are glued together with flour. Of course, these shoes are delicious to eat,” the artist writes in the Instagram caption. “Each part of the pattern is made of a different type of bread. When I baked them, the good smell spread throughout the room.”

Sasaki’s Instagram page has nearly 50,000 followers who enjoy her toasty artwork. Some of her previous pieces were inspired by famous artworks but most of them are original. She first started making toast art when the Covid-19 pandemic started and she was bored at home. She found it challenging to wake up early in the morning with not much to do, so she bribed herself with toast for breakfast. Eating art for breakfast sounds awesome, we have to agree!

Even Google’s social media team took notice and pitched in a funny joke.
