]]>McCarty has impressive attention to detail that allows her to recreate all-things real-life into miniature pieces. This is best seen in her recent series of works that saw her rebuild sets from popular TV shows like Friends, Seinfeld, the Big Bang Theory, and more.
For example, in recreating Monica’s apartment from the iconic sitcom Friends, McCarty left no room for error. She not only fully furnished her kitchen with utensils, cookware, and food, but she also went one step further and made matching artworks and picture frames. Even the peephole on the apartment door has a characteristic yellow ring to make the recreation 100 percent accurate.
The artist reveals that she developed a fascination with miniatures thanks to her grandmother, who loved to collect figurines. While in high school, McCarty started making her own miniature pieces and occasionally sold them at conventions. The demand was surprisingly high, and when she turned 22, she decided to make it her full job.
“Creating miniatures can really take you away to another world,” McCarty explains. “My ideas can be found everywhere—from my favorite TV shows to theme parks.”

]]>If you watched Friends, you probably noticed a Magna Doodle hanging on the doors of Joey and Chandler’s apartment. First appearing in season three, this children’s toy was used by writers to insert some quirky bits and smart jokes for the audience that paid extra attention to the details.
For those of you who were not so attentive or didn’t watch the show (God forbid!), there is still a way to catch the Friends‘ Magna Doodle easter eggs.
Italian artist and huge Friends fan Giulia decided to take it upon herself to gather the Magna Doodle jokes in one place. She first watched the entire show to find all the drawings and messages and then recreated them on her Instagram page.
Giulia’s drawings are followed by the name of the episode, so you can spot it easier when you watch the series. Also, there is a capture of the Magna Doodle from the episode for comparison. Check out some of our favorites below.

Since its release on October 23rd, The Queen’s Gambit was met with critical acclaim and managed to do something that period dramas rarely do—go viral.
With only seven episodes at our disposal, The Queen’s Gambit is the kind of show you can watch in a single weekend. That’s what many Netflix users did over the course of the past two weeks, and they immediately started obsessing about the show on Twitter because they were craving more.
In addition to discussing characters and the plot, many of the viral tweets have the same theme—chess. Twitter users are making hilarious jokes about their lack of understanding of this strategy game, but The Queen’s Gambit is definitely putting chess back on the map.

“To create such unique miniature sculptures, I use an ordinary craft knife, a magnifying glass, and a microscope to add tiny details,” artist shared. “I think the most elaborate piece from the Game of Thrones exhibition, it was the Iron Throne. It took me three tries and three weeks to create the final piece. The Titan of Braavos sculpture was also a tough one as there were a lot of fragile and intricate details in that piece.”
