]]>In Socially Awkward Misfit, the main character, Sam, is dealing with a range of social struggles, including introversion, anxiety, and depression. His approach to everyday situations is often relatable and can even bring out some chuckles.
According to Hendrick, he creates these comics based on the experiences from his own life.
“The most rewarding part of creating comics has been the feedback from lots of people who say they can relate to the issues in my cartoons, and it is heartwarming to hear that it has helped them to know they don’t feel alone in this world,” Hendrick shared in a recent blog post on Bored Panda.
Currently, Hendrick is working on a Socially Awkward Misfit book that will feature comics he has created in the past three years. Additionally, he’ll redraw some of his favorites from the past decade.
Until the book comes out, you can check out more of the Socially Awkward Misfit comics below.

Ted is described as a feline who has an interest in isolation and authority while enjoying things that are not socks. On the other hand, Butters is interested in sports, food, and Ted. Nemo likes attention and “flopping over,” while Dolores likes to play and be around her owner.

]]>According to Samdi, he enjoyed drawing when he was young but abandoned the hobby at one point and went 20 years doing other things. Several years ago, however, he returned to it, and the activity became an “escape route” from his everyday concerns.
While Samdi’s drawings were quirky by themselves, he quickly decided to tap into his unique sense of humor and turn them into webcomics. His works got even more prominent, and thousands of people started enjoying them.
According to Samdi, he views these comics as a great way to express his opinions and feelings while also being able to channel “all the weird things” that come to his mind. This is probably one of the reasons why his work tends to lean towards dark humor.
Samdi publishes his works on social media and has more than 10k followers on Instagram. You can check out some of our favorites comics from him below.

]]>“Those two characteristics motivated me to create a webcomic,” the artist shared on Bored Panda. “Since I was often doodling during lessons, comics seemed to be the perfect medium to share my ideas with the internet. So in 2013, I started the webcomic LOLNEIN.”
According to Vincent, his artwork is mostly about intimate objects that come into his life.
“That’s because I have always, especially as a child, personified things around me,” he added. “And since a lot of my comics are about everyday objects, many people can strongly relate to them. Some comics might even change how you look at all the everyday objects around you.”

]]>Loopstra says that she draws her inspiration from classic children’s books illustrations, and she enjoys mixing playful watercolors with her sarcastic and dark sense of humor. Art wasn’t her first choice in life. When she was in high school, she never considered becoming a professional artist, though she spent a lot of time drawing and doodling, but eventually chose to go to an art school thanks to encouragement from her professors.
One of her most important messages is encouraging younger artists to be themselves when they approach new tasks and problems. She says that every time she forces herself to make something popular, it fails. She created the Vampire Boyfriend series to make her friends laugh, never thinking that it will spontaneously gain large popularity on the Internet.

But even the most talented of creators find themselves in a creative rut from time to time. “I think many illustrators are going to relate to this, but every time I get stuck in a creative rut, I watch a Studio Ghibli movie,” she told the Patreon blog.
“I also love going out and walking… When I’m having a tough time, I also try to take it easy and read, draw stuff I like, take a bath, work at a cafe, meet up with my fellow illustrator friends, and talk with my husband Ed. He’s a creator, too, so we go through the same emotions that surround creativity. In my opinion, talking with someone can be one of the fastest ways to overcome a tough time or a creative crisis.”
Living with her husband, who works as a writer, the two also work together on a graphic novel. “In 2013 my husband Ed and I made this crazy decision of selling everything we owned, pack one suitcase each, and moved (with our two fat cats Hamburguesa and Cereal) to Europe, in the search of our dream city/place to live,” she explained on her website. “We’ve been living all over the world since then: Cologne, Berlin, London, Hastings, and less than a year ago we moved to New York City.”
But wherever the world takes her, we know she’ll do good. Here are some highlights from her Instagram page.
