This Makeup Artist Isn’t Interested In Making People Pretty

British make-up artist Isamya Ffrench takes make-up art to the next level. With an undeniable talent for blending and brushing, Ffrench quickly rose to fame and by the age of 28, has worked with some of the biggest fashion icons, including Kate Moss, Rihanna and Mert, and Marcus.

But like any good artist, Ffrench isn’t solely interested in making people pretty, stating in an interview with Forbes: “I’m just not solely interested in exploring what we are commercially fed as ‘beautiful’. I have my own instincts about beauty and what moves me and that’s what I pursue.”

M.A.C Cosmetics, Junya Watanabe, and Chloé are just some of the brands to have tapped her talents, along with YSL, for whom she’s now Beauté UK make-up ambassador.

“There was never a doubt that I wouldn’t end up in the creative industries,” she told Forbes. “Initially, I explored a few routes—dancing, product design, acting and then finally makeup and I feel like my work reflects all of those elements in a way… which feels creatively satisfying.”

Take a look at some of her creatively satisfying work in the gallery below.
