Amazing Airport Sculpture in Amsterdam Shows a Man Painting Minutes

Fun art pieces at airports can make those long layovers a bit more fun, and the one at Amsterdam’s Schipol Airport is among the best ones we’ve seen yet.

The Schipol Clock, as they call it, is a clock that hangs at 3m above the ground and, at the first glance, the visitors are lead to believe that there’s a man inside it. When you watch it for a while, you notice the man ‘erasing’ and ‘painting’ the minute hand.

This is, in fact, a 12-hour video sequence that repeats twice during 24 hours, day after day. It’s designed by Maarten Baas after the airport ordered a new installation from the artist for renovation purposes. See how it works below.
