Artist Reverses Gender Roles In Sexist Vintage Ads To Give Sexist Men A Taste Of Their Own Medicine

We all have the similar image in our heads when we think of a perfect ’50s woman – a good wife who cooks and cleans all the time and makes sure her husband comes home to a delicious meal every day after work. Not only they had to make the food tasty and the house sparkling, but those wives weren’t perfect without a pretty dress and a smile.

Beirut-based photographer and video editor Eli Rezkallah wanted to show how it would be if the roles were reversed – by switching up the gender roles in some of the most offensive posters. Some proved to be harmless and funny, while others look straight-up sexist. See for yourself below.
