Book Collection Turns Into Amazing Art

James Trevino describes himself as bookstagrammer and is a big fan of PJO, HP, and LOTR. He became famous by creating an incredible art out of his massive book collection.

According to Trevino, the idea “just sort of happened.”

“At first I was posting pictures of my then current reads. With time, the photos got more and more complex, influenced mostly by pop culture and sometimes by certain pictures I saw on Instagram,” he said. “First, there is the brainstorming I do with my good friend Elizabeth. Then, once we have a general idea, me and Liz try to bring it as close as possible to our vision. If the concept proves to be too large to capture in a single frame, we combine two or more photos in post editing.”

While there are many literary themes to choose from, they lean in favor of his two favorite books, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling and The Silmarillion by JRR Tolkien. Now, he has more than 1k books in his library and he has no plan of slowing down. His creations, for now, are just a hobby, he told Bored Panda. “The fact that the reactions have been so positive is a bit overwhelming, but also heartwarming.”

Who is your favorite Lord of the Rings/Tolkien character? 📚 One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them. 📚 If you have been here long enough you know about my obsession with everything Tolkien. The LOTR movies are my favorite movies of all time by far and I've watched them so many times I can literally quote them by heart (I did that with my brother when we watched Fellowship of the Ring recently for almost 20 minutes before he asked me to stop LMAO). 📚 I've read almost everything Tolkien wrote. I still have some of the History of Middle Earth series left and Unfinished Tales (which I just started today). My favorite Tolkien book is The Silmarillion (which I would place as my favorite book ever, tied with Harry Potter 6). As for favorite Tolkien character I will go with Feanor when we are talking the whole Tolkienverse and Arwen if we talk LOTR. OMG, I want someone to talk to about this universe nonstop! And can Amazon please hurry up with that series?!! I need something new to obsess over! 📚 Also, hope your weekend was great! 📑 📑 📑 #lordoftherings #lotr #bücher #tolkien #本 #読書 #booktography #thehobbit #hobbit #bookporn #jrrtolkien #bookstagram #booknerd #acreativevisual #megustaleer #aragorn #frodo #книжныйчервь #gandalf #middleearth #instalivre #hobbiton #sundayfunday #writerscommunity #artistsoninstagram

What are your favorite Harry Potter movies? How would you rank them? 📚 Ok, first of all, I know what you think: James, you just had an angel themed pic a few days ago. I know, I know, but this was not supposed to turn out like this haha. To give you a bit of insight into my creative process (for those few of you that actually care😂): this was supposed to be a Harry Potter themed pic (it still is, with the Elder Wand and the Deathly Hallows 'tattoo'). I was supposed to have a spell fight with @elizabeth_sagan , the spells would have been made of books. Cool stuff. But after 5 hours of trying to fit everything in one pic and resize and all, I gave up on the idea. It just looked unrealistic (not that this angel/wizard hybrid doesn't, but anyway😂). The thing is, I quite liked my pose there so I decided to add some stuff and this came out of it. 📚 Now back to Harry Potter😂 My movie rank looks like this: 1. HP and the Goblet of Fire 2. HP and the Deathly Hallows (together) 3. HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban 4. HP and the Order of the Phoenix 5. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 6. HP and the Chamber of Secrets 7. HP and the Half-Blood Prince (as a book this is my favorite) 8. HP and the Sorcerer's Stone 📚 Long ass caption, so I will end it here. Hope you day was great, folks! 📑 📑 📑 #sundayfunday #reading #ps_wanderlust #read #whpplay #harrypotter #books #bookphotography #hogwarts #literate #honar_doostan #yalit #jkrowling #writerscommunity #artistsoninstagram #ilovebooks #poetry #ronweasley #library #hermionegranger #dumbledore #fantasticbeasts #slytherin #gryffindor #ravenclaw #hufflepuff #гаррипоттер #tattoo #fromabove

When did you create your Instagram account? Are you OG or a noob like me? 📚 THE ROAD SO FAR (play Carry on my Wayward Son by Kansas) – extra points for anyone who gets that reference.😂 So, I entered the Instagram game relatively late. In 2016 to be more precise. And it took me forever to get a hold of it. This account was a place to post selfies, landscapes and other people's photos before it became what it is today. I get asked a lot how I came to do what I do now and the answer is: it happened by accident LMAO. The pics just got more and more complex but there was no great strategy behind it. Because I am awful with long term planning.😆🙈 📚 People also ask how I come up with my ideas and the answer would be: I have this great person that gets me and is my best friend and I brainstorm with her. By this point you know I am talking about @elizabeth_sagan and I want to mention that this particular post was her idea. She made a similar pic for her account but was nice enough to let me post mine first. Can't wait for you guys to see hers.😍 (these words were written with her keeping a gun to my head😂… joking, joking… or am I?) 📚 Anyway, what are you up to this weekend? Party hard anyone? 📑 📑 📑 #friyay #bookstagram #theweekoninstagram #book #instagram #reading #instagramlogIo #fromabove #flatlay #booklovers #flatlaysquad #vibegramz #bevisuallyinspired #bokeh #igreads #honar_doostan #bücherwurm #livres #livro #poetic #booksbooksbooks #booksofig #instareads #aesthetic #readingisfun #bookstafeatures #art_spotlight #nerdlife #instawriter
