Try as hard as you can, you will never achieve the level of awesomeness of this amazing Brazilian couple. Photographer Sebastiano Salgado and his wife Lelia did the unimaginable. The duo literally brought to life a whole forest by replanting over 4 million trees in the span over 20 years.
If you think that you’re doing nature a favor by drinking from a metal straw, think again! Sebastiano and Lelia not only planted trees but also helped the forest get its wildlife back. This Brazilian couple deserves all the praise in the world.
“The land was as sick as I was – everything was destroyed. Only about 0.5% of the land was covered in trees. Then my wife had a fabulous idea to replant this forest. And when we began to do that, then all the insects and birds and fish returned and, thanks to this increase of the trees I, too, was reborn – this was the most important moment,” the photographer told The Guardian.
