Animals come in all kinds of shapes and colors, from tiny to huge and from white to ones that change colors. But have you ever seen a green dog in your lifetime? Neither have we. But such things do happen.
Earlier in October, an Italian farmer named Cristian Mallocci become the owner of a litter of fives pups; four white and one green. Yes, you have read it right! Green.
The doggo was named Pistachio and decided that unlike his brothers and sisters, he will remain at the farm located on the island of Sardinia.
According to studies, Pistachio’s fur won’t stay green forever. It will eventually fade as he gets older, and he will look just like his mom Spelacchia.
But how did he got this unusual pigmentation, you might wonder? Well, according to studies, the green color appeals while they are still in their mom’s womb. The pale pooches come in contact with biliverdin, a pigment that makes bruises sometimes appear green. Mother Nature knows how to impress us, right?
